FAILED at the FOOTBALL GAME!!

After 5 days "eating healthy" and losing 2 lbs, I really blew it Saturday. I went to a collegiate game (my team won, YEAH) but HAD to visit the dive restaurant/bar that I always have. I had too many beers but did good on the pizza, only 2 slices and thin crust. But at the game, peanut M&M's, then on the way home, popcorn chicken from KFC. Ouch, I felt so bad this morning. The 2 lbs, forget it, I'm the say as 5 days ago. But today I'm back on track. I just need to learn that I cannot do this!! I had a good day with my husband yesterday, but then my mood has been quite rotten today. Guilt. I've eaten a lot less today and even changed my cc to 1000. Old habits, difficult. I guess if I stayed home all the time, no problem, but going out, well, I failed. I know that I will get stronger. Anyone else "flub" so bad after just one week??

I recommend talking to your friends, that way when you go out there may be less pressure on you to get into old habits.

Invited out for pizza with some friends.

 

Ordered the mostaccoli (it came with cheese) and garlic bread. Didn't snack as bad as you but realized that we should allow ourselves 1 cheat day not less than 7 days apart.

Think of this past week as "practice" and that you started fresh TODAY. Now you know that you need a plan for certain types of social scenarios, a plan for ordering healthy items at restaurants, and maybe you need to bring along some of your own tasty snacks next time!  This is a learning process as well as a dieting process ... you are learning how to plan, learning how to choose, and learning how to live.

You can do this!

Just keep going!

You are right Molly, it is "learning how to live." I need to get past the "beer" thing at social event. Wine gives me a headache and liquor, well can't do that, but I've acquired a taste for beer. Pizza and beer, well it was good, I should have stopped there. I couldn't bring snacks to the game, security tight, but yes, this was practice and I will do better. i "flub" weekly

it hasnt seemed to hinder me in anyway
if you do well on average, one bad day every so often actually won't do much

Ugh.  Don't EVER get me to a hockey game.  I'll gain ten pounds in one night.  You'd think with all the screaming and jumping around I do, I'd burn off some of those beers and nachos but nope..  They go straight to my thighs and stay there until the season ends.

Thankfully local hockey is on hold until a new arena can be built, so I have to resort to television hockey games. :D

There is no such thing as failing, Peacegirl . . .what a great name!

These tips & website have made this experience - my last attempt - stress-free.

Most importantly: Eat what you like & like what you eat!

Set a weekly range of calories as a goal instead of over-analyzing each & every day. For example, I try to stay between 8400 - 9000 (~1200-1300/day). Handle each day as just a piece of the puzzle. It is easier to forgive, forget & go forward with a seven-day perspective. It eliminates the starve tomorrow to make up for today's food sins syndrome - er, sabotage - because it never turns out that way [and how do you feel after two days of being badd?]. 

Get off that scale! Weigh yourself once a week @ around the same time on the same day. Talk about sabotage [#2]!!! The fluctuations in between will make you crazy.

Weight Monday, 11.19 - 155#; still have 25 to go, but can now fit into my size 9 junior Levis!!!
