Hiya
Stumbled across this site a few weeks ago when I was sat at my desk feeling particulary uncomfortable after eating a huge cheese sarnie and some crisps.
My story is simple;
Had horses - ate what i wanted, size 8
Sold horses - cant eat anything without feeling like a bloated hippo and shot up to a size 12
Size 12 might not seem very big to some people...but when you've been an toned 8 for years, believe me, its horrid, I can't sit without being uncomfortable, my clothes are too tight which makes me look worse and I cant afford a new wardrobe.
So, Ive joined up at a local gym and started running like a crazy person on the treadmill. Also tried to cut out carbs from diet, keep caving and cant be without my wine at the weekend.
Anyone got any good quick weight loss tips...or exercise tips....and how long will it be before I see results? ![]()
Hi there, I'm new here too.
I'm sure some other people from this site (who have been around a lot longer than I have), will tell you that there are tools on here you can use to calculate how long it will take for you to lose the weight you want to lose and how many cal. a day you should consume for that weight loss to come off safely.
looking for quick weight loss is a sure fire way to ultimate failure in terms of long term sustainability. it's best to make a few changes that you can stick to and just expect a slow and steady loss.
DO NOT restrict your carbs, they are your body's main source of immediate energy and when glucose is not available [from carbs] your body will break down its own muscle tissue for energy.
set a reasonable calorie goal, exercise 3-4 days a week for 30 mins with some strength training thrown in there and you will be well on your way to success.
congrats on your commitment to change, and i hope this helped!
