Falafel?

Quote  |  Reply
I had this awesome falafel hummus wrap for lunch today. It was pretty big. It was on a whole wheat wrap..like a LARGE wrap. There were about four balls in it I would say. Yes, I looked everywhere and it seems like it would be 500 calories, but I feel it was so big I just don't know. I just want to be honest with myself. Think of a large tortilla. What do you think????

hmm, id say more to be hoenst if you had it all w the sauce and everything.

they used to sell them at my uni and the cals on the packet said 350+

now, there was a 400+ so id call it 400ish just to make sure lol! it was a blody huge sandwich :)

350 for the falafel balls only, or w the pita and sauce and stuff?

It depends on a few things, but the wrap was probably 300 calories (they usually are, if they are full size). Four balls of falafel is about 200 calories, hummus is about 50 calories per tablespoon. But are are sure it was hummus and not tahini? because tahini is usually used on falafel and is much higher in calories, about 100 er tablespoon. But i bet it was awesome, and falafel, while not low cal, is healthy.

im sure it was great regardless, im planning grek tonight and itll likely be 1200+ cals!  completely worth it, just saying, if you want to be honeslt, the falafel wrap was probly closer to 700

I don't know of a number, but it seems to me like it'd be more too. Did the places you looked take into account the oil the falafel is fried in? That would be the majority of your calories I'd think.

Definitely around 700...the pita itself is around 300, the falafel around 200, and then 200 for sauce...

I think it is likely about 1000 calories.

fyi, most times felafel are deep fried.

I'd go with 1000. Even the ones I make at home with pita and home-made hummus and falafel are 670.

If you look Falafel up in Calorie Counter, here is the Nutritional Info on Homemade Falafel
