Weight Loss

I'm gym hunting (membership ran out last week) so I haven't exercised at all this week. On top of that, I ate like 1300 cals for dinner last night:
2 slices of whole wheat bread
1 cup of peanuts on the shell
1/2 cup fat free mango sorbet
1 1/2 cup cherries
1/2 cup of fat free milk
1 serving of my pasta and tuna salad - click the link if you're interested in the recipe.
I was supposed to exercise this morning but instead reached for the bag of peanuts (as you can see I just love peanuts). A coworker died last week so I know I'm not in the best of moods but I want to find a way to get back on track. Can you offer some suggestions or encouragement?

You fell off the wagon, so now it's time to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back on. No need to kick yoursel, because that only leaves bruises. Just dust yourself off, and remind yourself why you are following a healthy lifestyle. You can do it! Best wishes!
Losing someone you care about so much really sends many of us into a tailspin. The heartbreak from losing your co-worker is probably what led you to get fall off the wagon. Last Nov. I lost both of my parents, just 14 days apart, so I do feel your pain and say that in all sincerity.
One thing that motivates me is thinking of how they would feel if they saw the way I am coping with their passing. They wouldn't want me to worsen my health by eating more and more to ease the pain. They would want me to find another way to handle it and getting back on track is a wonderful way to honor them. Maybe you can choose to honor your co-worker in a similar way. This is easier said than done but with the support of caring friends, you can and will do it. I have faith in you riahekans! Yesterday is gone. Live for today. So what if you didn't eat right or exercise like you "should have." You can start any minute of any given day so please don't wait till tomorrow. YOU WILL SUCCEED!

I've kinda blown it the last week too for similar reasons. My brother lost 2 employees last week, one to robbery/murder and one to a car accident. On top of that, a sister of the man who died in a car accident died in a car accident on the way home from the funeral. I knew both men. These men were super friends to my brother and his family, way more than just employees. My sister works there also. They are all is devastated and even though I'm not there, and barely knew them, I've been crying for a week because I know what wonderful people they were. Like humorpam said, time to just get back on. Don't give up!!!
Changes and loss...stress, anything...wow, it can just make you want to eat. I know for me I take pleasure in eating when I'm down, it makes me feel good.
So don't worry about falling off the wagon, just put it in the past and start fresh again tomorrow. We can't change the past, but we can not beat ourselves up over it and do better in the future!
Hang in there, I've really eaten badly over the last week and bounced back up in my weight! But tomorrow is a new day!

Thanks all for your kind words...that's why I like to come here because everybody's so supportive. Anyway, I think I may go to the gym today (got a guest pass to the NYHRC.) Hopefully this will be my gym for the next year to come.
Hi riahekans! I too fell off the wagon this week for a couple of days. My husband lost his job and I am home with my 3 kids so his job was the only income we have. I got discouraged and found that thinking about calories and food was just too much for me at the moment. Anyways, I am back on track and feel good. I understand what it feels like to get in a rut. We all do it from time to time. Like Ree said, tommorrow is a new day. Thank God for new days!
A little side note, something I decided to do a long time ago was separate exercise from weight loss in my mind. I exercise for health so that way when I get in a rut I still exercise even if I don't eat right. I have completely changed my body by adopting this plan! Hope this helps.
