How do people living at home with family (mum, dad, siblings) experiencing any sort of an ED deal with their family when it comes to food and mealtimes? What are your dynamics?Daily troubles?Things your family do to help (or not)? How you feel when eating with them/discussing food with them?
The reason I ask is because my family are experiecing a difficult time getting a balance of giving me indepenece to eat myself and then taking tooo much care of me (so that Im dependant on them). Also I always feel guilty and different when Im eating with them, that Im doing something wrong and that they are criticising me-I seem to always be getting "the frowning look" from everyone except my mum!, which is hard becasue I may be eating a completely normal meal in a completely normal way!.
This forum might help your mom and/or dad if you send it to them: http://www.aroundthedinnertable.org/
This gets me mad.

Your family's 'nagging' that you're not eating much is 100% accurate... you've posted menus that are way too low. If you get mad it's only because you know it's true.
When you're 16 (even if you don't have an eating disorder) it's easy to dismiss your parents as interfering idiots that know nothing about anything but the bottom line is that they love you very much and, right now, you need them in.
Good luck

Being underweight does not make you fit. In fact, you're pretty much excluded from being fit when your muscles have wasted.
What type of food should not be eaten?
Calorie Count does not prescribe a particular diet or tell people to avoid particular foods. We only ask that you eat a balanced diet... Read more
