Family Size Box of Honey Bunches of Oats...

Quote  |  Reply

I had had about 2 or 3 servings last week.  I just polished off the entire rest of the box.  And this was after I had already eaten about 1,000 calories today.  Ummm...oops?  :-\

I don't know why I keep eating like this and it's killing me.  This summer I was AMAZING, and I looked and felt it too!  I didn't binge like a maniac, I worked out and was happy.  Now I can't stop thinking about food and even worse, shoveling it in my mouth uncontrollably.  I've completely undone all of the work from the past few months and I've gone from firm and toned to....doughy.

Does anyone else binge like this?  Do you have any tips on how I can stop it, and stop thoughts about food from ruining me?  I seriously only ever think about food, and what I'm going to eat next, and when I can eat it.

I don't know how to help you, but I do recommend not buying that cereal! I can eat a whole box of it too. D:

I think the holidays are just harder because they're cosier. You're stuck indoors more and less physical. Many people also suffer from seasonal depression during this time and turn to food. Plus food is strongly associated with the fall/winter holidays.

Sometimes you just have to deprive yourself and keep all bad foods out of the house. Maybe this is that time? =/

Yeah, maybe it's just stress.  I knew buying that box was going to be bad news!!  Of course, bringing it to work with me was not a smooth move since it was calling my name from my drawer...

Also, I mentioned I was working out this summer, and I still do work out 5 days a week (usually 6) but I haven't been pushing myself as hard as I should be and I've missed more days than I'd like to because of work, moving (which I did this past weekend), social obligations, etc.

Of course, the more I eat/binge the more upset I get at myself, and then I wind up eating more.  Brilliant. :-\  I just moved back into my own place after living with my dad in a not-so-great (emotionally) place so hopefully that will help me get back on track, since I won't get yelled at for making a mess when cooking and stuff.

Ugh, I feel sick to my stomach now.  Probably all that sugar!!  I hate this. :(

I know the feeling....when you're happily munching on that box of cereal, and suddenly you reach your hand in for one last mouthful-and feel your hand hit the bottom of the box. Its dreadful.

If you havent already invested in Ziplock bags of various sizes, in addition to some tupperware-now is the time to consider it. I always do my best to pre-portion food, especially the foods that I have a hard time eating in small quantities. Otherwise, if you feel like that would be too much work for you, simply do not allow yourself to eat directly out of  the box of cereal (or tub of ice cream, or bag of licorice)....

Honey Bunches of Oats are my complete and utter downfall. Don't fault yourself for surrendering to the power of the Bunches. I tremble just thinking of them...I have to avoid eye (box?) contact at all costs in the grocery store.

PS...have you seen that they make a new Just Bunches variety??? I think they may be trying to kill me.

Cereal of all kinds is my downfall, i just can't stop eating it once I start. I avoid buying it all together because I haven't figured out how to eat a normal portion. and yes, just bunches is trying to kill us all!!!!!

If you were doing so well in the Summer Time then chances are its because of your bathing suit! Try planning a beach vacation around Christmas time.. Even if its a drive down over the weekend.. Bring along the girlfriends! It'll wanna make you be in shape and look good to everyone!

oh my gosh i totally understand the cereal downfall. i've officially stopped buying it, or i buy the mini boxes that don't even have the kinds i really like in it.  Honey Bunches of Oats are AMAAAAAAAAZINNNNNNNG and I polish off a box of that in a couple days. The HBO is, indeed trying to kill us all. I had the binging problem (with a lot of kinds of foods actually) myself particularly bad for a few months, and I HATED that out of control feeling.  Now, although I'm still struggling to stay under my calorie target, I have finally stopped buying all my trigger foods, and its been working. Although i haven't lost anything yet, its been a couple weeks since I've binged, and let me tell you, it feels GREAT! so sure, i know, we don't want to give up the foods we love, but if it makes you feel better, it may be worth it. hang in there you can do it!
