Do you ever fantasize about a person's reaction to your weight loss?
Sometimes when I'm needing a little motivation I find myself imagining the look on someone's face when they see me for the first time after reaching my goal weight. I think about what outfit I'll be wearing, my hair, the scenario. I've got a very healthy attitude about why I'm doing this, but sometimes it does get me excited.
Does anyone else do this? Or have you experienced it first hand? I just imagine it to feel great. :)
Yes! It's a good way to feel motivated and inspired. :D
Absolutely. Not in an obsessive sort of way, but as a little extra motivator definately!
I do!
In April, I'm going to Seattle for my 40th birthday and I will see a large group of my friends who I haven't seen since Labor Day. I've lost 24 pounds since I've seen them and I am working to lose another 30 by April. It really motivates me keep working so I can blow them away. I know they will be so happy for me.
Yep. I do it whenever I'm going to see someone I haven't seen in a while. Last weekend we met up with one of my husband's old friends. I haven't seen the guy in probably 10 years. THE FIRST thing he said, after 'hello' of course, was, "Wow, you're really skinny. How did you do it?"
That put me in a great mood for the entire weekend!
Imagining yourself at your goal weight is exacty what you are supposed to do. Keeping that image in my mind has been the best source of willpower I have had so far!

Of course.
The real question is who doesn't.
I have lost 49 pounds so far, but, because of my age (63), I haven't had too many of my fellow workers commenting on it- they're afraid my weight loss is not planned. (big C)
But, yes, I do imagine what things will be like and what people will say if I keep on losing and reaching my goal weight in another year.
Of course the best result will to get off all the medications I need to take because of my weight.
haha yes I love it, not just weight though, anything that changes my apperance before seeing someone just makes me feel more motivated even if its my hair I guess it some how registers in my head that if I look different before I see someone i havent seen in a while then I have somehow came futher along in everything than when I would have last seen them.

Definitely... it can be highly motivating... that said, I think that the most motivating thing for me is fitting into clothes that I haven't been able to wear for a while... every once in a while I will sort through my closet and try on different pants to see what fits now... it's loads of fun! :-)
LOL! I do the same thing. I always do it at the gym while I'm working out. Like a little day dream you know.. I'm in my killer jeans, 130-135 pounds. With some heels on, and a nice hugging top to show nothing but flat wash board abs. That's what I see when I go to the gym. I also see there faces.. With me LMAO.
Oh yeah, definitely. I do this too every once in awhile I think it's part of the reason I have some of the motivation to stay on track (most of it is for myself though.) In fact, I'm living in NY now with my man, but him and I visit my family and friends in PA every so often so my goal is to have lost at least 20 pounds since I last saw them (which was in early Aug.) I don't know if I'll make it, but I'm close! And then after leaving PA I hope in the time we are gone again I make it to my goal. That would be so awesome! :)
I say any way you can find motivation to get yourself healthier, then I say, USE IT! :)
i honestly HATE it when ppl point out that i lost weight.
it makes me feel like they think it improved me as a person,
rather than making me healthier.
I always imagine how people will react when they haven't seen me for a while (since before I went on a diet).
I also have an awesome time planning all the new outfits I'm going to buy since none of my clothes fit me anymore =D
