Fantastic Bread Replacement
I have found a bread replacement to adore - The Golden Flax Roll-up. It is a sort of flat bread made by Damascus Bakeries. I found them in the produce/bread section of my local Super Target. These roll-ups measure 9 x 7 1/2 inches for only 100 calories, 3 grams of fat and 14 carbs.
I have made tuna roll-ups with them, breakfast burritos, smeared them with peanutbutter and jelly for a light snack, toasted them in the oven to make low-fat chips for hummus and they make an excellent and substantial sized pizza. I am so thrilled with these roll ups. Because of their size, I can usually cut them in half. Tonight I replaced a bun for my hamburger patty with 1/2 a roll-up. Only 50 calories!
I was so delighted with these I just had to share.

That is so cool! As resident poor college kid, however, I have to ask... Are they pricey?
You know, I don't remember how much I paid for them. There are only 4 per package and I think they're between $3 - $4. However, I've used them as a supplement to other low-fat breads and since I only use 1/2 one most times, you can stretch them out. Maybe you can find a benefactor to gift you a pack or two for Christmas? :)
If you're looking for something cheaper as a wrap, there are these wonderful Vietnamese rice papers that you just wet and sling veggies into. They are used for spring rolls but you can put anything in them.
So far, I have time yet, the dumbest thing I've done was to give up all bread but you are at least getting some carbs and I'd bet a bit of good fat with them (flax=good fat). I try looking for 'em.
You're right, mfchill, these wraps do contain the Omega 3 fat.
I've been buying Flat Out Wraps. They are soooo good and only have 90 calories and 9 grams of fiber. I buy the light ones. They are like a tortilla and come in different flavors. I have tried the Italian Herb, Tomato and wheat. Even my kids love them. We use them for meat and cheese rollups, eggs and turkey bacon, chicken salad and peanut butter for the kids.
