So far, so good: -1.5kg (3.3lbs) first month, now 9.5kg (20.94 lbs)

It's exactly one month since I started (120.2kg/265lbs, M, 59, 185/6.1).

Objective shed 20kg (1/6 body weight) in 17 months at the rate of about 1/3kg (2/3 lb) per week.

Method (my own design): (a) eat a little less than my (sedentary) RMR (2450) - I'm averaging  2340 per day (an easy to handle deficit of 110), without giving up anything (not even the foie gras - 512Cal and 1040mg cholesterol per 100grams!) and (b) add a dash (30mins) of "exercise" - moving stuff about in the attic and in the cellar, walking, wii bowling, some aerobics and even some vacuuming! - for an average additional deficit of about 250 per day.

Now, all I have to do (118.7kg/261.7lb) is keep it up for another 16 months.

Thanks, I should succeed. CC's Calorie Coach is pointing to an early finish (second half of September next year, so 3 months ahead of schedule, if correct).

Next target (for the end of this month) is now 117.5kg (259 lb).

So far so good, or even better after two full months (starting July 8).

SW: 120.2 kg (265 lbs)

1st month -1.5 kg (3.3 lbs)  to 118.7 kg (261.7 lbs)

31 August target: 117.5 kg (259 lbs) - MET

2nd month -2.4 kg (5.3 lbs) to  116.3 kg (256.4 lbs)

TOTAL lost: 3.9 kg (8.6 lbs)

30 September target: 116 kg (256 lbs) now looks too easy, so target adjusted to 115 kg (253.5 lbs).

Original plan was to lose about 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) per month. Now that I'm averaging almost 5 km (3 miles) hiking/walking per day, my calorie deficit has grown and the rate of loss is faster, even though my intake is up (near 2500 but expenditure is averaging about 3200) and the 'simplistic' calculation would predict a monthly loss of 2.7 kg (6 lbs). We'll see. I'll be very happy with a steady 1.5 kg loss but I won't complain if it does turn out to be more like 2.4-2.7!

Month three has been the best yet (thanks to a big increase in the amount of exercise (walking/hiking) I am getting - averaging 770 kcal/day with a daily average kcal deficit of about 750. So, the numbers:

SW: 120.2 kg (265 lbs) July 8

1st month (to Aug 8) -1.5 kg (3.3 lbs)  to 118.7 kg (261.7 lbs)

31 August target: 117.5 kg (259 lbs) - MET

2nd month (to Sep 8) -2.4 kg (5.3 lbs) to  116.3 kg (256.4 lbs)

30 September target: 116 kg (256 lbs) now looks too easy, so target adjusted to 115 kg (253.5 lbs). - MET & EXCEEDED with 112.5 kg (248 lbs)

3rd month (to Oct 8) - 5.6 kg (12.35 lbs) to 110.7 kg (244.05 lbs)

31 October target: 111 kg (244.71 lbs) already exceeded and reset to 110 kg (242.51 lbs).

TOTAL lost: 9.5 kg (20.94 lbs)
