Far-Infrared Sauna
I've been visiting a far-infrared sauna the past two weeks. Fairly expensive. Claims:
*Stress Reduction *Detoxification *Skin Purification *Pain Mananagement
AND *Weight Loss ......hmm...
Well if anything, it's relaxing. My friend and i (seats 2; half the cost..hehe) chit chat the time away. Love it. Anyone else tried this with any results?????
How is this different than a regular sauna? other than costing more?
Any 'weight loss' that occurs will be a result of sweating, once you have a glass of water you'll put the weight back on.
I love the suana and hot tub...
it is good for detox and the skin, relaxing etc. but the weight loss is only water.
You need to stay hydrated to replace the water loss and makes sure you have some salt later especially in the sauna.
Nothing better for sleep too.
The healthy all natural well balanced diet, with no pills, kits, shakes or powders is still my way to lose weight.
The sauna and hot tub...great for so many things but weight loss is not one of them in my opinion.
i guess the big difference is one is 'steam' , the other isn't
also, i think it's not immediate weight loss. Not like 'get in' and be lighter when u get out. The idea is that it 'burns calories' while inside....the body trying to cool down. Over time weight loss maybe???? sounds too good to be true to me! I do love it tho...and will probably keep going. Love that 'glow' when i get out.

That's the difference between a steam room and a sauna, what's the difference between a 'far-infrared' sauna and a regular sauna?

You burn calories doing anything, sitting in a sauna isn't going to burn enough to have any sort of significant effect on your weightloss.

Yes, it does sound too good to be true. The body can't "produce" cool, only sweat more. This is the opposite claim of the one about burning more calories when it's cold (which is true, but it's a negligible amount). I don't know how much energy it takes the body to sit and produce sweat vs. just sitting, but I'm guessing it's also calorically negligible. Someone correct me if I'm spreading misinformation, okay?
Anyhow, I'm glad it doesn't sound like you're banking on anything other than relaxation and a post-sweat glow.
Yeah, I use myInfrared Sauna daily. It helps that there is a radio to entertain me. I've lost about 5 lbs. so far.
How often should you eat during the day?
It is neither necessary to eat every two hours nor to stop eating at 6:00 PM. As long as your calorie intake is less than your output... Read more
