Ok, at the mo there are tons of different fashions, a lot of stuff 're-hashed' from the past etc.

What is the one (or more) thing that is in style at present that you think is just awful?

Oh I just thought of another fashion trend from the 80's that I hate... SHOULDER PADS!! Unless you're a football player, they don't look good!

Agrees shoulder pads are horrid. Surprised

I hate the obvious socks and sandals look as well as logo'd shirts, ex. GAP, EXPRESS, CHAPS... You want people to know the brand, so you look cool. Unfortunately, you bought the cheapest, ugliest shirt in the store to do it. I was guilty in junior high because I couldn't afford the trendy things in the store, then I learn that the stores weren't all that trendy! Laughing Live and learn!

Another thing I can't stand to see...when girls wear pants that are waaay too long for them and instead of getting it hemmed or something, they just walk around on the back of the pants. It ruins the pants and just looks...sloppy. On some of them there's a good six inches of pant under their foot. Why did they even buy them like that? And isn't it uncomfortable to walk on? Doesn't it feel like your pants are being pulled off with every step? *sigh* Modern "fashion" will ever continue to amaze me...

This kind of goes along with the crocs (wow, they're ugly), but I've never gotten the whole flip flops as fashion thing.  It used to be that they were primarily seen at the pool or the beach, and now people are wearing them with business suits and formal dresses (I kid you not - my cousin's kid wore velvet strapped flip flops with her full length dress....).

I may be in the minority, but everytime I see someone wearing flip flops outside the beach, a pool, or lounging around the house, I think it just looks like they couldn't get up the effort to put on real shoes.  (Besides, they're bad for your feet - I've read more than one article where doctors comment on how all those people will be having arch problems later....)

on edit:  Oh, and overly expensive purses.  I hate those MSN fashion spotlights, that are titled "must have bags for the fall season", and every single one of them is not only ugly, but over $200.

i know its been said but i HATE skinny jeans. i think they look absolutely hideous.

and guys wearing girl jeans. it makes me sick. theres this guy in my school and he must wear the absolute smallest girl jeans he can fit into. then he walks around and brags about it. well maybe its just me, but i dont think thats anything to be bragging about.

i also hate shoulder pads. theyre so ugly and make peoples shoulders look big and bulky.
long shirts and cropped shirts.

o.O unless ur really skinny they just accent the belly area a lot.
I like my skinny jeans, they are comfortable. I also have ginormous sunglasses. I like them on my face since I have big features. I am sooo tacky!
i hate crocs. HATE THEM. i don't care how 'comfy' people say they are! another big one for me is jeans that have an overly long zipper in front. maybe they're made for soccer moms or something, but those things make me look r.i.d.i.c.u.l.o.u.s. :/

honorable mentions: polka-dotted, 'babydoll', or grotesquely oversized (think rapper's t-shirt oversized) tops, trucker hats, and anything that has a huge logo, brand, or band name stamped on it. all for various reasons :]
The reintroduction of the 80's vest last fall was nightmarish. Another confusing item: ankle boots. How do they work? I am completely befuddled by them - I cannot look decent in anything but a long, flat heeled boot, and these ankle boots intrude on the natural line of the leg by fluffing up the ONE area we ladies want to look slender, the ankle.

As for my loves of tackiness, hee hee - I hated flip-flops on others for so long but finally broke down and bought some this year - they really help my smelly feet! And I walk everywhere, all the time. I'm already sad knowing I'll have to give them up for winter.

I also have big, bug-eye glasses. They look great on me so I'm not giving this one up.
Ugh! I was at the mall today and saw oversized off the shoulder shirts (sweatshirts, actually, to make it worse) worn with a belt!  Circa 1986!  I think I have a picture of me in one of those back then and it didn't look good then, either.

And those dreadful super long skinny t-shirts- if you have hips they just wind up with about a foot of extra fabric around the middle, and really, who needs extra fabric around the middle?
I don't like those shirts that have little pull cords on the sleeves. I don't like little pull cords on pant legs either. I hope I'm getting the idea across, it just seems stupid to me to have little cords hanging down that can be pulled and tied, what's with that?

I like skinny jeans, but not on me because I have fat calves. They look good on slim people. I don't mind the guys wearing the girls jeans, I think it looks fine. I like the hair in the face look ok too. I love to see the outrageous fashion sense that some people seem to have.

Crocs are never a good look, and agree with the previous posts about muffin rise, and tight fitting shirts. If it doesn't look good, don't wear it even if it is the "fashion."
Un-paralell hem lines, never been classy...neck tattoos, spandex I have seen way too much lately come on...
I hate crocs, they are the ugliest things I have ever seen.

But what drives me absolutly crazy is the FLIPPED COLLAR!!!!!!!!!  Why?!?! What is the point of that. Nothing drives me more nuts than when I see I guy with a tight pink polo shirt on with the collar flipped. I swear, the next time I see one, I'm going to scream.

when people wear skirts with jeans/tights. i just can't wrap my head around that. make up your mind! either wear a skirt, or wear pants!

i second crocs, and socks w/ sandals.

especially navy blue socks. it's absolutely hideous.

okay, I might catch hell for this... But I dont care..

I dont know if its a trend...persay...  But I cant stand anyone who wears camoflauge.  Camoflauge pants, skirts, bathing suits... whatever, its not cute... and IMO I think its disrespectful.  Coming from the US, I think the only people that should wear camo are the men and women of our  military... other than that... leave it alone...
I think that was said Jac, but only directed towards adults, which I agree with, it works for teeny boppers but definately NOT adults.

oh no... it doesnt work for anyone!

I can't remember who said this first, but...

Leopard print belongs on leopards.  Zebra print belongs on zebras.

So I'll add:  Camouflage belongs on military personnel and/or those who are hiding in nature or otherwise want to blend in with their surroundings. Laughing
