how fast is too fast to lose weight
okay so sunday late night around midnight i ate a huge disgusting meal at mcdonalds...monday i ate nothing but 3 oreo cookies and a glass of orange juice, tuesday i had coffee a donut, orange juice and a lunchable
when i was on the scale sunday nite after the take out it said 185.2 yesterday laste night 178.8 now today around the same time the next night 177.6 is this possible or is my scale losing its marble
If you eat a nig meal with a lot of salt, starch and sugar then your body will not only add on the weight of the meal but also retain fluid temporarily.... so you can gain a huge amount overnight and then it's gone a day or two later. Which is why it's best to weigh once a week, same time of day, same day... gives things chance to even up.
Do try to get into a regular, healthy eating pattern. It's so important for your health. You'll never lose weight alternating between starving and bingeing and you're actually more likely to end up heavier and horribly depressed from all the junk food. Come on... you can do it.... three light healthy meals a day, some vegetables, a few healthy snacks, plenty of drinks.... Just work it out in advance, jot it down on a piece of paper and then stick to your plan. You deserve to be healthy and happy.
This is possible. I had normal meals yesterday and half a bag of cookies (which was 700 calories and made me feel so gross) last night. Today I ate the good stuff such as wholegrain bread and fruits like bananas. I did a weigh-in and my weight dropped a little. Not significantly but there was a change on the scale. I did bloat from the sudden large intake of sugar, though.
The trick is to be positive and move on after a binge. You should have eaten something else instead of three Oreos after the meal at McDonalds, to provide your body with the right nutrients. Donuts are not the way to go, either.
Drink lots of water to flush out any toxins from your system. I am sure that your meal on Sunday night had a lot of unwanted salt or sugar. Eating Oreos and donuts will probably make your body feel worse in the long run. Also, graze throughout the day if you are unable to stomach three proper meals a day - have some fruits and vegetables, lean meat and whole grains. Eat foods that are high in fibre to move your bowels.
Stay strong and enjoy your life!
There are lots of factors for that rapid loss, it is mainly water and waste (yes that weighs something also).
If you plan to lose weight and feel better about it, then at the most, you should strive to lose about 2 pounds a week, until you reach your target weight. (you can never disappear of course even if you do lose 2 pounds a weed because you can only reach a plateau wherein you cannot lose anymore weight in a healthy manner).
That's what I have read so far.
Lots of luck.
What did you weigh the night before the day when you went to McD's?
Also, you need to eat normal meals. You want to lose weight right? You need to eat to keep your metabolism high and keep your body from going into a "starvation" type mode where it tries it's best to hold onto whatever calories you eat because you are far too often under eating.
You are in some pretty serious danger at the moment. Please straighten your diet out. The other thing extreme stuff like this can do is mess with the chemicals in your brain leading to depression and other problems.
As for problems from losing weight too fast (though this wasn't a case of that), if you go too extreme and lose too fast you'll end up with extra flabby skin. You are less likely to have this problem when losing 2pounds or less a week.
1-2 pounds a week is healthy weight loss more than that is toofast.
However, as others have said. A large amount of sodium can make you retain water so your actually body weight may have been less than the scales said at the higher number. Also weight goes up and down all day so make sure its the same tiem each day if you have to weight every day... waiting til jsut once a week is more exciting though you get to see the great results!
I am preching to myself here as well so don't be offended o.k.?! I think the best way to lose weight and keep it off is to establish healthy eating habits.I don't see any nutrtional value in any of the food you ate in these three days. They are all full of junk your body does not NEED I'm sure the drop on the scale was exciting but being healthy is so much more rewarding!I love Oreo's just as much as anyone else but that just does not make for a meal especially not for an entire day! you can do some research and find some nutrtious meals and there are tips out there for ppl who are very busy and don't have a lot of time to spend cooking/preparing meals. You are setting yourself up for failure by eating this way.I hope all goes well for you!
i wasnt eating like that to try and lose weight, it was when i got on the scale and i changed so much that i started to think of what i ate... id spent the last 2 days in court.... donut and coffe at lunch time one day, oreos the other day is all i ate simply cuz i was stressed and my stomach was doing spins, i wasnt hungry....
all i ate today was a burger from wendys, once again during lunch at court... i dont notice till the end of the day when i come on here, that i actually havent ate
