My older brother is like this too... he is six foot 1 and weighs 140 on a good day. He does work in a kitchen, which is somewhat active, but the rest of the time he does nothing at all... sits on his butt. It's annoying. And one time I estimated the calories he eats at about 4000 per day. Plus the munchies he gets from smoking pot. It's just not fair:P
There was a similar post on the thread  called" HELP, I think I screwed up my metabolism" Someone wrote one of the most informative repsonses I've read. I've pasted it below because it applies here too.

"You haven?t screwed up your metabolism. First you need to know what metabolism means. Metabolism is the rate at which one burns calories. That?s it!So if a person has a lot of muscle on them, they will burn calories at a faster rate then a person with less muscle that?s it.When a person says my metabolism is slower what they mean is that they have lost lean muscle and have more fat on them and so now they are satisfied on less food because their body does not burn calories as fast as before. If you want a faster metabolism build muscle. That?s all you have to do. You will not be able to build muscle if you are not eating enough food. The only way muscle can build is with food; preferably complex carbs. Cardio is great but resistance training is where it?s at if you want a leaner body, that burns more calories at rest. You need to eat more meals per day in stead of a few big meals. You need to eat real food, not diet food with lots of chemicals in it. I would work out every other day. If you?re doing free weights then do a different body group each time and give at least 3 days of rest to each body group before you lift weights again. It is during the rest that the muscle gets bigger.  Also; when lifting weights, it is only in the final part of the exercise when you think you can?t do anymore that the benefit happens. That?s when your muscles tear down. When you cannot lift anymore it means you have burned all the energy out of the cell and the glycogen in your muscles has been used up in exercise. After this kind of a work out, a nice plate of pasta with a meat sauce and a salad would be good. With an apple for dessert. Hope this helps "

im 21 years old and i weight less then 125lb. i cannot stop eating if i dont eat fro 5 hours i get teh shakes. if i dont eat for a day i lose atleast 5 lbs over night. I have a condition called Hyper Metabolism. with the combination of a disease that causes death to red/white blood cells in an accelerated rate, it causes my metabolism to be off the charts. in 1 day i can easily consume about 8000-10000 calories and not gain a pound. i spend close to 450$ just on food monthly give/take. I hate it so much that i cannot find words to express it. I am a student and i can barely get past the bills every month.

My FH is sorta the same way. He's a healthy weight, but he can scarf down 4 slices of pizza and a calzone, 5 chocolate chip cookies, 2 donuts, and still maintain his weight. Although, he does go to the bathroom right after he eats..lol i know tmi.

I can definitely relate to the whole feeling jealous about people with naturally fast metabolisms, however in a way I'm glad that at a young age I'm forced to pick up healthier eating habits. A lot of teenagers eat whatever they want, and sure, that's awesome throughout their teenage life, but when they hit their 40s they're not going to know what to do when their metabolisms slow down.

I think your post is very helpful in showing people the other side of the story.  A lot of people think that it'd be great to be able to eat all day, but it seems like it really is a hassle to you, especially since it affects your health in a bad way if you don't stop eating.  This makes me appreciate my slower metabolism and allows me to appreciate what I'm eating even more. =]

Edit: Also, wouldn't it be difficult for people with really fast metabolisms to gain too much muscle?
