1 can of crushed pineapple with it's juice
1 box of angel food cake mix.

Combine the pineapple with the cake mix and pour into a 9" cake pan that has been sprayed with Pam.  Bake at 350 f for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

This recipe is good.  I've fixed it using peaches instead of the pineapple.  But I put it in a 9 x 13 pan.  It was very tasty.

Linda
I put it in a 9" pan to get a higher cake.  I found that the 9" x 13" came out too flat.  However, my 9" pan has 2 1/2" sides, so a 2" high pan might cause some overflow.

It's so quick to make.  I do it when I have unexpected company and serve it while it's still warm.
just to clarify.. so all you do as take a box of angel food cake mix and a can of crushed pinapple with juice and  put it into a prayed pan??? No other ingriedients??   that is too easy and it sounds better than a diet coke cake..  I love pinapple :O)
Actually it does taste much better than diet coke cake.  I have been making this for years.  I have never tried it with peaches, must do that.
I am going to make this for my party on Saturday - awesome!  Thanks - do you still make it as per the instructions on the box - beating it for 4 minutes and do you still bake it at low temp for 30 minutes??
Oops read the recipe again and my questions were answered - sorry!!  **blushes**
How many cals per serving? What a great idea..could you do the same with strawberries, do you think?
It has to be made with canned fruit as you need the juice.  Usually you make it in a 9 x 13 pan and divide it into 20 pieces.  Not sure about the calories.  It is a weight watcher recipe.

WOW SOUNDS SO GOOD, CANT WAIT TO TRY IT,, YUMMMMMMMMMM
Calories per serving - the cake mix is 140 for 1/12th of a cake, and the pineapple is 70 for 1/2 cup - I'm not sure how much pineapple you get in a serving.  You can cut it in more than 12 pieces and the servings will still be generous.  It's a lot of sugar, but no fat at all.
I am going to try this.  I am back again....giggles...giggles...
It's also very good with canned cherry pie filling.  I've made it in a bundt pan, and it came out good, too.
Cherry!  Yum!  Thanks for the suggestion.  We love it when people test recipes and report back.  That way we know what to cook.
This may sound silly, But are those the only two ingred for this recipe or do you use the ingred for the cake also?
Just those two ingredients tony.  The cake mix and the can of fruit.  I think the acid in the fruit makes the baking powder in the cake mix bubble up for a light cake.

The next time I make it I'm going to stir some brown sugar into the pinapple for a richer flavor.
Ohhhh....wow..... I love fruit & baking & angel food cake!  I've got to try this one.  (I've made it with the cherry pie filling also)

It is a Weight Watchers recipe.  WW uses a 22 oz can of light fruit pie filling (blueberry).  WW recipe used a 9x13 pan making 24 pieces at 2 points per piece.  It just happens that I bought the pie filling this evening to make this recipe.
