I am 18 years old and about 5'3. Last year i started eating right and exercising and lost about 25 pounds in 8 months. Around december i started gaining weight back and now today i gained all that 25 pounds back in 3 months. ewwwww
none of my clothes fit anymore so all i wear is sweats. I work out alll the time, but my diet is horrible all i eat is junk. I need to be able to fit into my clothes by the end of april, how can i at least lose 15 pounds in a month?!
it might not be healthy but i need to do it.
heeelp anyone?!
Realistically, the best way for you to do it is the healthy way. If not, the 15-25 will be back on again in no time. I've been there, done that... lost a lot of weight in a very unhealthy way. Of course I gained it all back, and now I no longer fit into all of my clothing and am also wearing only sweats :P
However urgent it might feel that you need to lose the weight by summer, the fact of the matter is that long term weight loss and maintenance is what you should be worrying about...otherwise you'll be doomed to a life of yoyo dieting. Right now, I would love love love to be able to fit into all of my cute summer clothing by summertime, but I understand it is unrealistic and unhealthy. Best you can do is eat right and exercise like you did before! Hope this help
yah
the same thing happened to me
i was 120lbs, was VERY happy with my body
had a really stressful year of university and gained 45lbs!!!
now it's really hard to lose it all
so far i've lost 10 lbs since january
but don't worry about losing weight for april
worry about losing weight for LIFE and having a lifestyle that wont allow you to gain it back because otherwise come next april you'll be wondering how you let it happen again
15lbs in a month isn't realistic unless you're 400lbs+. Assuming you're under 200lbs you could realistically hope to lose 1 or 2lbs a week safely and steadily. If you swap junk for healthier, nutritious foods e.g. plenty of fresh vegetables etc., and if you drank plenty of plain fluids (not diet sodas) then you could see a change in your shape quite quickly. The salt in most junk food and processed foods can add 7lbs of fluid retention to a body quite easily.
If you're over 21, use the CC calculator to work out a reasonable calorie intake number based on your size and activity level. If you're under 21 http://www.kidsnutrition.org/bodycomp/bmiz2.h tml this site is more appropriate. Take the daily recommendation and deduct 500-700 cals only.
There is a way to legitimately lose 10-15 lbs of fat in a month, but honestly, very few people have the willpower to stick to it, and it's probably not worth even bringing up, but if you really absolutely want to, to the point that you'll basically surrender any and all food desires you have for that month, then you can look into the velocity diet. It works, but I wouldn't recommend it, because I don't think anything good really comes from hurrying weight loss.

Just my opinion but you really should reccommend speedy weight loss to young people. They really need to learn to do it correctly, I think speedy weight loss is where a lot of discorder eating habits begin.
kooort: Listen to GI-Jane, cut out salt and processed foods, while increasing veggie, fruit and lean meat intake, and you'll be well on your way to a healthy liftstyle which is much more important than dropping lbs fast.

Did you mean "Shouldn't recommend"? Well, if you read my post you'll see that I said "but I wouldn't recommend it". Anyway, I'm a young person myself and I don't see why being young inherently means you're going to be irresponsible with weight loss. Speedy weight loss in the context of starving, fasting, etc... is where eating disorders begin. I don't think anyone has ever developed an eating disorder from the velocity diet, though.... I just thought I'd mention that it's not necessarily impossible to lose at a bit above 2lbs/week if one has the willpower.
