I have found the greatest form of weight loss. Running. I lost 20 pounds in 4 months by starting this awesome stress reliever. Give yourself a goal of doing a 5k in a few months and you will be amazed at how fast the weight comes off. I started out limiting calories also but you don't have to starve yourself. The calories you burn by running is amazing. So you don't have to completely ban every bad food from your diet. Moderation plus running= weight loss!!

oh cool. i jog for more than 30 minutes each day and it seems to be working for me. i don't know if it has the same effect as running though.
It should, as long as you get your heart rate up. that's the main thing, push yourself to feel it. Not until you feel like your going to die, but you'll know when you feel the burning. There's nothing like it. :-)
I got the same affect from jogging. Actually, I tried running a couple of times, and I actually felt worse than I usually do. I can jog about 1.5 miles, but I can only run about 2 blocks. My heart rate gets way too high. So if you are just starting out, I suggest jogging first, and once you build up your stamina, start building your speed. In a few months, you might be able to run.
I agree with you, it did take me a while to work up to doing 10 minute miles. You don't want to kill yourself. :-)
I started running/jogging about 3 weeks ago. I changed my diet a little, but nothing drastic. I run about 2 miles 4 times a week. I have lost no weight. Actually I gained a pound. I don't understand.
Do you run straight thru, or do you run/walk?
