Hey guys, so I am currently 117 lbs.. I'm 5'2.5'' and have a very petite frame. I've lost about 7 pounds in about a month and am aiming to lose another 10-15 lbs. I am happier with my stomach, my sides, my legs, my face - they're all losing weight and becoming toned... BUT my arms are still fat! I do cardio, lift weights, do arm exercises.. and nothing! I feel like my arms are not proportionate to my body! Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone else have any tips on how to lose this arm fat?!
Please help!!!!
yah I have fat arms as well.. what the crap :(
Personally, I have short arms. My upper arm is just a little bit shorter than most people's. I found this out in elementary school when I got discounted in PE because I couldn't raise my bottom off the floor. My arms were just too short!
I am trying to keep away from any weight lifting, as my biceps, after picking up kids and the resulting equipage for five years, are as big as my husband's, but instead am concentrating on high-repetitions of light-weight or no-weight exercises, and stretches. I also seem to have more fat on the back of the arm than the bicep area, so I am concentrating on that area. Of course, being 50 pounds overweight at the moment, it will be some time before I know if my method has worked.
Good luck, and keep on keeping on!
1) You're the only person who notices.
2) You can not choose where fat is lost from.
sometimes I feel like this too. I'm 5'1 and 105, but really at my weight, I'm probably just creating the idea in my head. Especially since losing the extra weight, it's hard to get oneself out of the mode that one is still "pudgy."
At least that is my case. I stopped working out and ate literally like crap for 5 months. I got up to 120-125. I know that doesn't sound bad to many people and loads of people are happy with that weight, but on my frame/body type is just wasn't cutting it for me.
The way I have notice my arms return to a slender shape is cardio and light weight lifting 3 or 4 times a week. Also throw some push ups in.
Doesn't it suck that we can't choose wear we want our fat to be lost from? Boo.
I know what you mean!
After losing nearly 25 pounds, my legs are sticks, I'm happy with my stomach and everything else but I feel like my body hasn't really used up much of the fat on my arms (even though they are smaller). Almost like they haven't caught up yet. I hate bingo wings!! (and muffin tops for that matter)
haha "bingo wings." Never heard them called that before! My sister tells me I have a keira knightley-esque body. I have more muscular legs, thin waist, and slender back and arms.
It must be all in our heads. Plus aren't we always the worst judges of ourselves?
Okay to make myself feel better about my apparent self-consciousness of my arms I will say something postive about myself.
"I love my thin waist, and musculely legs."
Think postive, think postive, think postive....![]()
I really don't think you should aim to loose much more weight. By all means it sounds like toning up your arms would be fine. You are taller than me and my Medically unsafe weight so to speak is 104 lbs and I too have a very petite frame, it seems to me that you want to tone up, which would add weight to you as muscle. I do have bingo wings that are slowly shrinking with increased weight lifting, more reps, rather than increased weight if you want to get toned without going body builder.
I have this same problem, but mine is that my arms are too muscular (I did gymnastics for 16 years and now I have massive man muscles) but anyways, I hardly do any strength exercises for my arms, and it seems to be working. I do occasional push ups, but no weights or arm machines at the gym, and my arms have definitely gotten smaller. This might not help you if you already don't have muscle in your arms... but I figured I'd offer my experience!
