Beans: Beans are good sources of protein, fiber, and iron. The protein in them keeps your blood sugar levels steady and hunger at bay.

Cinnamon: A USDA study concluded that as little as 1/4 Teaspoon of cinnamon added to food reduces blood sugar levels and increases insulin levels

Cheese: According to a study published in the International Journal of Obesity, the calcium and protein that come from cheese promote weight loss and help maintain muscle mass.

Eggs: Eggs can emulsifie fat, breaking it down to smaller fat droplets. This action speeds up and improves the digestion of fats by enzymes because the surface area is increased.

Seafood: Consuming fish regulary has been shown to lower levels of the essential fatty acid leptin, a hormone linked to slower metabolism and obesity.

Apples and Berries: Pectin has a water-binding property that may limit the amount of fat your cells absorb. Although all fruit contains pectin, apples and berries are known to be the best source of pectin.

Garlic: Garlic has been touted as a miracle herb. Proponents say it boosts your metabolism and keeps your insulin levels low to maximize fat burning, making bad breath a small price to pay.

Ginger: Ginger is another one of those wonder foods that has been credited with dozens of health benifits. It is said to expand the blood vessles and increase metabolism.

Green Tea: Studies found that drinking green tea containing caffine increased metabolism 28 percent to 77 percent, depending on how much a person consumed. Fast metabolism equals greater fat burning.

Soybeans: Soybeans offer a high source of low-fat protein and are low on the glycemic index. This means your blood sugar levels won't spike then crash an hour later, pushing you to the cookie jar.

Spices: Spicy foods make you sweat and raise your heart rate, temporarily increasing your metabolisim. Cayanne pepper is considered one of the best fat-burning spices.

Olive Oil: Olive oil is a good fat. In fact, it's so good that it helps you burn fat and keeps your cholesterol down. So don't be afraid to eat at that delicious Italian resturant!

Meat: You burn more calories digesting protein than you do digesting carbohydrates or fats. That's part of the reason low-carb diets seem to work so well. Meat and poultry are excellent sources of protein.

Water: Dehydration slows down your metabolisim and often disguises itself as hunger. If you feel hungry, drink a glass of water. It might make the pangs go away.

Whole-grains: Despite the no-carb craze, your body needs carbohydrates. The key is to eat unprocessed, whole grain foods--brown rice, whole wheat bread and pasta, for example.

Does egg whites count as eggs for benefit? oh, and beans and meat-- I can hardly digest them and they go in and out the same shape-- I can identify (not to be gross) them.. do you know any solution for these things too? or anyone????
Interesting!

Mmmmm I love cinnamin!!

Miffy, make sure you chew your food slowly and thoroughly before you swallow.  It helps your digestive system try to do it's job.  (my nutritionist told me this as I had the same complaint as you about food not being totally digested) Smile
