Lately my face has been looking a lot more puffed up and chubby than usual, making my eyes look really small (which is bad as I have small eyes anyway). Can faces get bloated?! I'm not sure if it's due to constant binge eating or bad diet or something but does anyone else have this problem? It's embarrassing as my face is the thing that everyone can see and my slight double chin makes me feel really self-conscious!

Is there anything I can do to improve this? I mean, it DID disappear with exercise but due to my history I don't think it's wise to attempt to do that again. Any advice or similar problems? :)

Has anyone else noticed this?  Or is it something only you are conscious of... sensitised to?  If it's particularly noticeable then you might want to consider talking to your doctor.  Puffiness to the point of pressure on the skin leaving indentations ... if you're not doing anything obvious like drinking alcohol, have switched make-up or getting a lot of late nights... isn't normal.

I'm only going to mention this because you said something about some kind of "history" that makes exercise bad - which makes me think of ED which reminds me that the faces of bulimics become very puffy sometimes, because of swelling caused by the acid.  I don't know if this could possibly be your case, so I'm sorry if I just offended you.

Beyond that- it's just bodyfat percentage.  I have always had a fat face, and when I showed someone my driver's license last year, they said "oh you must have lost weight!" and I realized that the picture of my chubby face on it no longer matched my actual face :)

My face does that when I eat to much salt. Any time I eat a Baja Fresh that happens since their food is loaded with sodium! It usually takes a day or two before it goes back to normal. If you think that is what is going on with you, try drinking lots of water today and tomorrow, that usually helps me.

not meaning to offend but when you mentioned binges.. is there purging too?  I used to have problems with that and my face would swell too.. lower cheeks being the worst part.  Doctors said it was the salivary glands would get inflamed. (someone else mentioned that too)

If this is not the case then I would watch it and see if you notice any pattern on when it happens.  might mention to your doc on any future visit if it persists.

Ah, I'm not offended at all. I have never purged - I don't even seem to have a gag reflex! I used to over-exercise, but I don't think that makes your face puffy. I don't know if anyone has noticed because they dare not say anything about my weight incase I revert to my old ways so I'm not sure if I'm being paranoid or not. I want to get rid of it but I'm finding it extremely difficult :(

I know that if you eat a lot of carbs at night right before bed, you'll tend to feel more puffy the next day!
