Fat Free, Sugar Free Soft Serve

Quote  |  Reply

Our family recently stopped at the local ice cream stand, and in the past I'd passed up an ice cream, however they had fat free, sugar free soft serve so I got a small.  It's just a small local place, not sure what the calories are though.  Does anyone have any idea?  I can find the cone, but I'm not able to find the calories or anything close other than store bought ice cream.  1 site had low fat sugar free at 120, so I'm assuming it's close to that.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

According to an article that was skeptical about fat free sugar free frozen yogurt ("softserve") being a good diet aid, marked it at about 25-30 calories per ounce (which sounds fantast. to me). So if you can garner a small at four ounces it'd be 100 calories, etc. etc.

Might help :)

I had fat free, sugar free vanilla ice cream for 70 cals per serving once..

Thank you for the quick replies, the 2nd link is the one that made me think about posting here.  I did a Google search and it was one of the links that came up, and I remembered I was a member here, just hadn't used the forum.  I've seen anywhere from 90-120 calories I was just going to journal 120 to be safe.

hey i think i can answer this question for you. i worked in a soft serve shop for years. the fat free sugar free stuff had about 90 calories a serving which is 4 oz or a half a cup. most places use an 8 oz cup for a small so it can be anywhere from a 6 oz to an 8 oz serving for a small ( 130 - 180 cals). if its a small cone, the serving is probably somewhere between 6 and 8 oz of ice cream as well. just dump it into a cup next time and figure out how many oz they are giving you.

hope that helps

Yeah I didn't expect to get an ice cream until I seen that, but I did journal 120 but either way I'm safe.  That does help though, thanks!  I probably won't have one all summer, been staying away from sweets LOL don't want to start craving anything!  Thanks again for all the replies.
