I am feeling very frustrated. I weighed myself eariler this week and I was happy with the number then I weighed myself today and I was up a pound. HELP. I have been working out very day at the gym for an hour of cardio then I do pilates at home. I watch my calorie intake and have not gone over it once all week. What else can I do?

there are a ton of reasons why your weight ca go up or down by a pound. Dont worry about it. mine can fluctuate by 3lbs in one day. The most important thhing you can do for your diet is RELAX! this is a rest of your life situation. Learning not to worry now will help you keep on track. As time goes by you'll see this goes up and down all the time Its normal :)
Probably the biggest thing you can do right now is be patient with you body - one gallon of water weights right at 9lbs., so be aware that some days our bodies retain more water than others. Also, if yo're new to the diet, sometimes at first your body will 'freak out' and say - oh no, I'm losing fat - we must be going into a famine! and it will start trying to hang onto fat for dear life. This won't last, but it might slow your progress for a little bit. What is your calorie intake? Be careful that it's not too low so that you don't go into 'starvation mode' and hang onto what you're trying to get rid of!
are you drinking a lot of water? wait a week before you weigh again- give your mind a break. You will see a difference then
My calorie intake is 1300 but I am usually right around 1000. And Yes I drink alot of water. Thanks for the encouragement. The scale is not my friend right now.
There are so many reason it could be. water weight, too much salt intake, gaining muscle....blah blah blah. Truth is your weight is going to go back and forth a little bit. this week I started at 150(that time of the month) Im at 146.8 this morning. we are women and our body loves to play tricks on us. I dont worry about the pound up and down, it will probably be down tomorrow. Just breath, dont give up and keep going. switch one thing in your routine and see if that makes a difference. Sometimes I will do 30 jumping jacks before I cool down or extra crunches. Every little bit helps! Keep up the good work! Welcome to the site! Tell us more about you!

I agree with all of the comments posted. Scales are not our friends. The new one I bought is an enemy, telling me I'm 5 pounds heavier than the old one suggested.

Mostly, I would recommend you use the tracker to rate your real progress and focus on that. You are staying within your calorie range, exercising and, I expect, eating healthier than you once were. If you're like me, even when you're not losing pounds, you're losing inches, and I'd highly recommend you measure yourself if you're not already doing that.

These are the "scales" I am now using to measure my real success, and it helps me get through the moments that my bathroom scales betray me. My now baggy clothes are currently my best friends!

Congrats on the many great things you've incorporated into your life!
