What seemed to work for me is the Elliptical machine on an intermediate workout. I also cut out a lot of sodium in my diet too. I'm a petite person also at 5'2" and 120 pounds, but my knees also had that. It really wasn't fat, it just needed to be toned. I hope that helps. Good luck.
Hi, let me revive this thread... Any success with getting rid of your knee fat? I have this problem too... I was wondering: ok, perhaps there are no exercises to slim this particular area. But maybe there are exercises or workouts we should completely avoid not to make things worse?

I've always hated my knees - regardless of how thin or heavy I am at any given moment. The only thing that helps me is doing a lot of quad exercises. I notice that the stronger my quads get, the muscles kind of pull up my knee chub. I try and do a lot of leg extensions.
Well since this topic has been revived I guess I will chime in. I was just reading thru this topic cause I thought it was odd/interesting and I wanted to know what was written cause I use to have chubby knees. I remember standing up and having the top part of my knee hang over my knee cap. I haven't paid much attention to it, cause it really wasn't THAT bad. So while reading this I noticed the answer I quoted...and then I looked down to see about my chubby knees...which are non existant!!! I never realized it, paid much attention to trying to fix the chubby knee problem, but it sems that they have "gone away" and I believe the key is the leg extensions. I use to work out HARD at the gym, and leg extensions were one of my fav exercises...and I piled on the weight, most specifically to make my quads more muscular(I tend to store weight in my thighs, upper legs...and I'd rather have them big and muscular than big and fat)
So get to those leg extensions to lose the chubby knees!!

Congrats on having the knees you like
I wish i could have that...
I'm not sure though, if this kind of exercise would help get rid of the fat on the inside of the knees, not on the front of the knee. any professionals willing to share their expertise?
omg !! i feel your pain sooooooooooooo much !!
my knees are my BIGGEST problem are (i'm 5'4 and alwaaaaaaaaays fluctuate between 105 and 110) and my i feel like my knees are huge on the inside !
anyone want to answer this question for meeee tooooo ? :-)
You can't spot-lose fat. NO way...NO how. Doing leg extensions are fine, for building muscle or strenthening. And certainly they will burn calories. But burning calories will burn off fat according you the way YOUR body stores it. Genetics plays the starring role here. Some people store fat mostly in their legs/hips, some in their waist (generally men do - those lovely "beer guts"), some in their upper body. The "fat of last resistance" will be a different place for each body. It will be the very last place that the fat comes off, as you lose. So....IF you still have a problem area, you simply need to get back in gear and get a calorie deficit going. The best exercise for this, as always, is high intensity cardio, since that will burn more calories per hour.
