Does anyone know how to get rid of fat thighs and saddlebags. Also, for all the ladies, do your boobs get smaller as you lose weight?Embarassed

Everyone loses in different places. Unfortunately there is no way to target weight loss in certain areas. You can try doing some leg workouts to tone your thighs/waist.... like lunges, squats etc.

yeah, ur boobs will get smaller.  i wish it wasn`t so, but it is...  how much u lose depends from person tp person and how much weight u have to lose.  and i also have fat thighs, but i think the best thing is to just lose weight over-all, you can't focus on one spot.  legs are easy to trim down tho, since pretty much all the machines use legs...  treadmill, eliptical, stairmaster, even rowing!

as jamminatorr and juleroo pointed out, you can't spot reduce. If you do a good mix of cardio and strength while keeping a diet though, you'll be able to lose weight all around, and increase the percentage of your ean body mass. if you keep working at it, eventually you'll start to see the fat thighs and saddlebags going away. (:

the downside (or for people like me, i consider it a plus) of losing weight, is that yes, your boobs get smaller.

pros:

- less likely to sag in old age.

- boobs become more pert

- you look better in 'slim cut' clothes

- you can pull off the androgynous look if you so wish

- always have the option of padding and/or a boob job

- easier to run. (less expensive to buy bras, especially since larger chested women sometimes need two when running.)

cons:

- self esteem goes down if it's pegged to boob size

- will start to attract different sorts of men. or women (as it is, some men like women who looked toned, and some men like women who are fair and plump.... etc.--this might be a blessing in disguise)

- will need to buy new bras. (constantly even, if your weight loss is very much extended.)

neutral:

- unlikely for there to be change in the mammalian functions of your breasts.

(:

Well I highly recommend squats, lunges and deadlifts, etc. Combined with aerobic exercise you can make your legs firm and toned. You could do hours of cardio every day and never get the firm definition that weight training will give you. Weights AND cardio is the way to go, and I don't EVEN :D want to hear anything about weight training might make your thighs bigger.

Diddo to what they all said.  I use my Wii Fit a lot and do leg lifts and stepping exercises... it's really helped to tone up my legs and thighs....  And, yes, my boobs did shrink quite a bit (a whole cup size from D to C) when I started losing weight.  They got in the way a lot anyways, lol.  :D

For the thigh question....yep, combined cardio and weights are the greatest. If you are just starting out......I use a big exercise ball, lean against the wall with it (the ball being centered in the lower to mid back) and do slow squats. I'm just beginning my weight training again after a long hiatus, and it is an excellent way to strengthen the legs and tone up! My physical therapist recommended this exercise for me because I have such weak thighs that if I squat, I can't get up! Ha! That's pretty funny when I'm shopping for groceries!  Laughing

I've been doing alot of leg toning exercises and walking to try to get rid of the thighs!! I find lunges are working and using the machines to help at the gym. I really like the idea with the exercise ball against the wall...I need to try that..!!!

Yes the boobs disappear...YEAH!!! I was a double AA before the weight gain...up to a DD at my heaviest...down to a large B now...hoping to get back to an A or less...and it is true..they come back to life...less mass for gravity to take over I guess!!!

Although you can't spot reduce, you can camoflague the desparity between your upper and lower body.

I have large legs in comparison to my upper body.  I"ve trimmed down my thighs and butt quite a bit with a bit of cardio and heavy leg workouts.  But I've also built up my upper body so it's more in proportion to my lower body.  Now I look more balanced.

As for the boobs...I'm old, have had 3 kids, have yo-yo dieted for years.  my boobs now are close to being included in my waist measurement!  But by really working hard on building my chest and back and shoulder muscles, everything looks better.

Good luck!
