Today while I was cooking fish (per lalabanana's wonderful suggestion), I had a thought... I know there are many fabulous, experienced cooks in this form, and there are people like me - those who want to be fabulous and experienced. I also remember seeing several posts regarding new year's resolutions to learn to cook/cook more/try new recipes/etc. SO, I'm wondering if there might be any interested in a faux cooking class to help us wanna-bes out.
I think it would work really well if each week an experienced cook provided a recipe in the forum, then anyone who wants to learn how to make a new dish would try cooking that recipe sometime during that week. Those who cook it would report back on their success (or lack thereof). This way we'd all, not only learn new recipes, but ways to improve recipes and how to avoid mistakes while cooking.
If I was a great cook I would volunteer myself to 'host' the first week, but I'm not. I would, however, be more than happy to facilitate. So, hopefully there is some interest out there and we could give it a shot!
Please post in here if you are an experienced cook who would like to share a recipe OR if you are wanting to learn more by cooking a new recipe provided by another CCer.
I think that's a great idea! I have many recipes that I could share - I love cooking and have actually come up with several of my own.
I'd be happy to try to supply recipes and accompanying tips. If enough people are interested, we should try to figure out the logistics of the whole thing. :-)
Count me in, I love learning new recipes to try.
This thread will probably get moved to the 'Recipe' board.... I've got stacks of fairly easy-cook (some fast, some slow) healthy recipes stored up on CC which I'd be really pleased to share.
Doh! I didn't even think of sticking it in the recipe board - that'd probably help. I'm glad to see there is some interest ![]()
This is great! I've already been making it a point to try new "good for me" foods this year and I've already tried two new recipes, I would love to get some new ideas!
I'd love to jump in here. I've been cooking recipes that we all love, but I'd enjoy finding something new just to keep things interesting. Are we keeping this here on the Foods board, or moving to Recipes?
