what are yours?/ you could either put your favorite of all time, or your current favorite, or both!

all time
band: brand new (with beastie boys/le tigre tied for second)
song: pixies - "where is my mind?" (greatest song ever. don't even argue with me).

currently
band: interpol (although they're actually my #4 fave of all time, but i've been totally obsessed lately) and lily allen. i know she's been out for a while, but i just got into her big time like two months ago. i love her.
song: ....i don't really have a current favorite. nothing that i'm dying to listen to. i'll put lily allen's "ldn".

hey say what you will say eminem can suck... especailly all his old stuff but elvis?!   All the older ones hate me at work coz i have a vendetta against him (dont take it personally, i jsut have to listen to him all day at work)
Ohh...yeah I used to not like him but my grandma had me keep making her CDs and I ended up with a couple songs I liked.
Understandable but the poor boy was taken such advantage of... all he wanted to do was gospel music believe it or not but his manager sold him out to every genre and movies and all that... kinda sucks he went down doing what he was never really proud of...  not to say those songs are bad i just think its tragic when any artist thinks they need to do that to make a living.

Favorite band:  Casting Crowns

Favorite Song: Voice of Truth

=^..^= MOLLY

I'm usually up for just about everything, but a big-time favorite would be...  U2, of course!

(and I also love ABBA, but I usually tryjnot to admit that!)

All Time:

Band: Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, and David Bowie

Currently:

Song: "Amazing" by Seal

favorite band : The Decemberists

favorite song of all time : Diamonds and Rust (Joan Baez); Left of Center (Suzanne Vega)

best song ever : Imagine (John Lennon)

Pixies get an honorable mention though. Did you know WIMM? was the song the NASA folks played when they "woke up" the Mars rover? Pretty darn cool.

Favorite bands are Korn and Blue October

Favorite song The 21st by Blue October

Firstly, does the term "bands" refer to groups only, or can it include solo artists?  I'm assuming the latter...

All-Time: Atmosphere, Oasis, Jimi Hendrix, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Led Zeppelin, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Ras Kass, Miles Davis, Michael Jackson, Nirvana, etc.  I could go on and on...

Current: The Shins, Belle & Sebastien, Atmosphere (yes, again), Brother Ali, One Be Lo, etc.

I saw a female Sage Francis fan earlier, wow... awesome!!  He's an excellent writer/poet.

Favorite singers? Hmmmm....Darren Hayes, formerly of Savage Garden...and Tori Amos.... :)

Favorite songs ATMO:

Darren Hayes, Lets Go, Fallen Angel, Oceans

Savage Garden : Carry On Dancing, Ultra Violet mix.

Tori Amos: Parasol  :)

I happen to love Eminem as well. Particularly his Eminem Show album which is his best work, IMO. Then there's "Weird Al" Yankovic, Natasha Bedingfield, Shakira (only for that catchy Hips Don't Lie song :P) and another composer, Clint Mansell.

Other bands would be Muse and a Japanese Visual Kei band called Nightmare.

All time favourite band is the Stereophonics,

The last 9 months or so i've been listening to Jamie T alot, i can't get bored of his album

The first all time favourite song that first sprung to my mind is

Elton John - Tiny Dancer

^^^ Sheila Goes out with her mate STELLA! I love that song, I saw him at t in the park this year, he was classic.

All time

Bands - Stone Roses, The Smiths, The Libertines, Joy Division (and therefor new order)

Songs - I wanna be adored, by the Stone Roses

Current

Bands - We are scientists, Arctic Monkeys, The Wombats, The Holloways, Kate Nash (Met her! Go me) The Cribs

Songs - mouthwash by Kate Nash, Lets dance to joy division by The Wombats

whoa, that's awesome! nasa gets like a billion more points in my book now.

and for you smiths fans, i will say that my #2 all-time favorite song is "how soon is now?" second best song ever. don't even argue with me.

lol i know what you mean, but i've been obsessed with this song since i was like 14. i heard a snip of it in the trailer for "cruel intentions" and i was like, "whoa! what is that song?!" and i bought the soundtrack but it wasn't on it :( then i heard it in that movie "the craft" but it wasn't the original. and then i finally got my own computer for christmas when i was 16, and the first thing i did was download the original (i didn't know it was by the smiths until then).

I think it's funny that like 3 people I know (including my husband) were confused by the lyrics because they thought the beginning was "I am the sun, and the air" and not "I am the son, and the heir". Hehe.
^^ hehe, I'm such a  Smiths obsessive...My auntie used to date Johnny Marr (bit of name dropping there lol) and my two fave songs of theirs are the queen is dead and girlfriend in a coma...OOOH and Frankly Mr Shankly!!! I had completely forgotten about that one! And some girls are bigger than others...gah, time to get the albums out...
