Favorite Healthy Foods?
I was wondering what everyone's favorite "healthy" foods are because I need some ideas for new things to try. I was wondering what are some of your favorites, and why?
Some of mine are Zone Perfect bars, because they are almost like candy bars but CC gives them an A and they are a good snack, and carrot sticks dipped in either peanut butter or fage yogurt.
Thanks!
Reason: Moved from Weight Loss to Foods forum, thanks
Hummus--Athenos makes a roasted red pepper kind and it is delicious.
Fruit--really no reason

- veggies: green beans, carrots, and brocolli especially
- chicken
- baked potatoes
- salmon, tilapia, shrimp
- yogurt
- Steamed broccoli with lemon juice.
- Oatmeal with raisins and a daub of maple syrup.
- Frozen banana, frozen strawberries, (soy)milk, and agave nectar in a smoothie.
- Pure apple cider
- Grape Nuts with soymilk...
I can't list them all, there's too many!
Tuna, chicken, turkey, fish. Naturally more peanut butter, sweet potatoes, hot peppers, olives, cottage cheese, cereal, buckwheat pancakes, brown rice with veggies, homemade pizza.
Because the weather has suddenly turned cold my favourite healthy foods are changing from cold salads to things that are hot, tasty and comforting. Vegetarian indian food is top of my list.... Aloo Gobi, Chana Dhal, Mushroom Bhaji.... plus casseroles that include plenty of seasonal root vegetables.

Yay someone else that uses agave nectar! I just got introduced to the stuff last summer and I'm in love with it. I use it in my steel cut oats, smoothies, tea, to sweeten all natural almond butter... pretty much everything!
Hmm I saw some agave nectar for sale the other day and was wondering what it was like. I will have to try some now.
I was also considering baking an acorn squash. I'm down with the seasonal vegetables. These are all great food ideas, thanks everyone for your responses so far!
