I know there's some hungry girls out there, tell me, what's your fave recipe from the book or website so far?

I don't have the book but I love her brownies made with canned pumpkin and Pillsbury reduced sugar cake mix.  They are really good and fudgy.

I got her book a few days ago and just made the chicken fingers and onion rings last night.

They are coated in ground up Fiber One cereal and eggbeaters.

They both came out really good and my picky husband even liked it.  The chicken was a tiny bit dry, will try coating in a low-cal sauce next time instead of eggbeaters.  The onion rings were Awesome!  They tasted like the real thing of a lot less calories!

I just bought my hungry girl cookbook at Target last night and my favorite recipes are any of the shakes.  I tried her version of a double chocolate chip frap and it was better than Starbucks- theres a recipe similar in the cookbook but its the not same one I used from one of her newsletters.  I have a friend who swears by her capn' crunch shake too (I think Carl's Jr. sells the original- I'm not sure bc I live on the east coast) and that recipe is on the website.  And she has a pina colada recipe that uses sugar free ice cream and sugar free torani and its really good too (this is in the cookbook!) I added some parrot bay to my batch and it was amazing and less sinful than the ones you get at a restaurant.  Enjoy your new purchase- I know I'm enjoying mine!

I like the recipes that replace breading and frying with a coating of pulverized Fiber One cereal, and baking.  You get a nice crunch and it seals in the juices.

I haven't got the book yet, but it's on my list!

So far, my favorite HG recipe is the pumpkin brownies using the reduced sugar devil's food cake mix.  My boys love 'em too!

The ooey gooey chocolate cherry muffins turned out realllly good, and the cheesy good cornbread muffins are fabulous (went great with the HG chili recipe).

I am hoping to try out the butternut squash fries this weekend. They sound so good!

All the muffins and cupcakes look divine. I have a hard time choosing which ones to make.

I made the taco salad earlier this week and its great!!!!

I have had the Butternut Squash fries quite a few times, I bake them and put old bay seaonsing on them and dip em in ketchup....YUMMMM!~

I don't have the cookbook (yet).  I have made the Chow mein from her website using the shiratake noodles and I love them!  I have gone as far as buying a box of Fiber One to make coatings, but do not have a food processor to grind them up yet.   The brownies made with pumpkin sound good.

Yesterday i made the Chilly Chocolate Cheesecake nuggets and they are absolutely delish!! Really taste like chocolate cheesecake...mmm... I also made the Peanut Butter Fudge to give to my mom for mother's day. i tried a piece and its not bad... i think i overcooked it though... :(

Have you tried brining your chicken?  I ALWAYS brine chicken and it makes it retain more water when cooked, keeping it moist.  Here is the recipe:

1/2 c. salt

1/2 c. sugar

2 liters water.

Soak one hour in the fridge.

This is for a whole chicken so I just use 1/4 cup each to one liter of water if I am doing a pound or two of chicken.  If you are using kosher salt, add an additional tablespoon per 1/4 cup of salt.  Rinse the chicken after brining and then cook as usual.  I don't know how much of it soaks in calorie-wise but it sure makes it taste moist and juicy.

Wow, seems like that would give you a lot of extra calories and a lot of sodium... Interesting concept though. I have never heard of brining....

i <3 hungry girl! I love all of  her "Fake fried" stuff. Even my boyfriend will eat it. The butternut squah fries might be my favorite becuase it really satisfys my french fry cravings.

I tried the chicken bowl, you know the healthy play on the KFC chicken bowl. and holy cow it was good and actually really filling.

The brownies with the pumkin i have made those a few times, the best the came out was with betty crocker low fat brownie mix and semi sweet chocolate chips. I put them in cupcake cups so i have them in individual serving size. Those came AWEOSME!

I always wanted to try the smoothys but it just seems like so much work.
The waffles with strawberry compote - I tried it out yesterday for lunch =], amazing! I made the french toast for my parents the other day, great as well. I love the all the desserts and breakfast ideas! I have a file in my computer dedicated to HG Recipes.

I made the butternut fries and didn't like them.  they never crisped up.  I must had did something wrong.  They just tasted like bad squash.   Do you have to like squash to like these fries?

I haven't made the fries yet, i attempted but the squash was so hard to cut, i feared i would cut my hand off with the knife.

I made the onion rings over the weekend - they are awesome! When it says "1 Humongous Serving" its for real. i must have had at least 15-20 onion rings out of the medium/large onion i used.

wow i think i need to get this book. My dinners have gotten boring and reading all of your comments about it makes this book sound wonderful. I am so going to target this weekend to pick it up.

Toss some Fiber One in a ziplock bag and pound the crap out of them with a tenderizing mallet. :)

THANK YOU FOR THIS POST!!! I didn't even know there was a cookbook! I've been trying to find things by navigating the site, but the book will be much much easier.

Has anyone tried to make anything with the Tofu Shirataki Noodles suggested by hungry girl???? According to hungry girl, they are merely 1/10 the calories of normal pasta. I'm, really curious how they taste/tips on making them/recipes they're good in.

I have not tried them yet, but i am a huge fan of pasta. Not sure what to expect from them!

The pot pie was really good my whole family liked it, it was also very filling. The onion rings rocked!! The pudding crunch thingy was really good. Anyway the book is awsome not only does it have some great recipes but it also helped me thing of new creative healthier ways of making are old not so helathy favorites. My family really loves tuna fish casserole I made it the other night with tofu noodles, nonfat cheddar and 98% fat free cream of mushroom soup, it was really good still.
