What are your favorite 100 or less meals?
My all time favorite has got to be:
3 Egg white omelet with 1 slice fat free american cheese and 1/2 slice turkey bacon...really makes me feel like I'm eating a meal!
So what are your favorites that are 100 calories or less that really fill you up and taste great?
EDIT: Sorry, sorry, a thousand times, SORRY for using the word "meal." I just wanted some snack ideas. Seriously, my bad for using the word "meal." Geez.
-1 cup chopped raw broccoli with homemade dip (2 tbsp light sour cream & 2-6 tbsp salsa)
-6 oz raw mushrooms with 2 tbsp hummus
-1/2 cup plain fat free yogurt with 1/2 cup berries and a little bit of splenda
-slice of Sara Lee whole wheat bread with some sort of jelly or jam
I too enjoy egg whites with fresh veggies...a little bit of goat cheese goes a long way because of its flavor
100 calories is not a 'meal' unless you're eating twelve times a day... I couldn't think of anything that would come in at under 100 calories and count as a a 'meal'. Egg whites are great... but not alone. One egg plus two whites plus a cup of cooked vegetables plus salsa still comes in at under 200 calories. Now THAT'S a meal.
Yeah, haha...I was thinking - "100 calories?!" And all I could think of was popcorn, which is more like a snack. Perhaps I should be more creative with my food.
Oh, just thought of one - soup. Shirataki/konnyaku noodles with miso soup is really filling, and the only way I can stomach those noodles. Actually, many soups will clock you in under 100 cals, even if you toss in a bunch of vegetables.
Half a mini pita topped with tomato puree, mushrooms, red pepper, pinch of parmesan and extra light pilidelphia - grilled YUM! (eating this at the moment) 73cal each, thats low cal pizza :O.

x2
x3
100 cals is a 'snack'... The only restaurants where <100 cals ever qualified as a 'meal' were those rip-off nouvelle cuisine establishments of the '80's. A piece of fish the size of a matchbox garnished with a three caviar eggs, a drop of balsamic vinegar and a slice of kiwifruit.... ![]()
Sorry, semantics. Would it make everyone feel better if I said "snack" instead? Okay, what are your favorite 100 or less SNACKS?
Semantics aside, I think your point was to have people give a variety of foods they can eat that are low calorie, which will help many people think of eating different foods, and combinations that they may not have though of trying or putting together.
i for one have copied a few down and intend using them as ideas when I do not know what I want, and need some more variety.
good for you on your idea and thread.
100 calories isn't a meal. My meals include all the food groups. If you want to know my favorite dishes that are 100 or less, here they are.
this one's 112, but you could get it down to under 100 by using fat free, sugar free whipped topping instead of light.
Thank you x 5 to all of you who pointed out that 100 cal or less is not a meal. I thought I had entered an anorexic's dream!
An extra thanks to clairelaine - those recipes look great as a part of a meal, or as a snack to hold me over...
100 calories isnt really a meal, i eat 100 calories for a snack but some good snack ideas that i really enjoy are
an apple = 65 (125g) with 1/2 cup pumpkin puree (with cinnamon, allspice, ground ginger etc) for dipping (the pumpkin has no fat, and alot of fiber)
1 piece of toast with low fat herb and garlic cream cheese and egg whites (make it as a half sandwich) its about 80-90 calories depends how much you use of each
1/2 cup low fat yogurt (50 cal) with some strawberries
a banana
package of reduced sugar apples and cinnamon oatmeal (110cal)
i enjoy all of those prettyy much everyday :) very satisfyiinggg
well somebody (who isn't anorexic) could want a 100 calorie "meal" in the event that they have just eaten a HUGE meal earlier that day, bringing them close to their limit, but are hungry and want to eat something satisfying that fills them up without going over their limit. I don't think it's worth attacking the poster for calling it a meal... that said,
shirataki noodles with soy sauce
fat free ballpark hot dogs with a calorie-reduced bun
wasa crispbread with melted shredded lowfat cheese and a few slices of pepperoni for a pizza substitute
fruit salad
Cottage cheese on cracker breads are great. Cracker breads are only 19 calories each and really really filling.
Glass noodles with mushrooms, carrot, sultanas, tomatos and a splash of olive oil and soya sauce.
Generally though I make sure that my dinners are around 500 calories and my lunches are usually the 100-300 mark.
Not sure about others but if I ate 100 calories per meal I would be way under eating and end up unhealthy as I wouldn't have the required energy for all the walking I do.
I don't make an effort to have 100 calorie meals as I think this is way too little but I do have snacks that are 100 calories or less.
PEOPLE!!! Did anyone see my post about semantics??? For craps sake I just want ideas for a snack that's 100 calories or less! I'm not flippin' anorexic. I'm just looking for ideas!
100 calorie or less SNACK IDEAS!!!! Please ignore the word MEAL!!
...that is all.

She did put a post about the semantics and also apologize for using the word meal in the original post.
Thanks for the post, I love it. No only because I got a lot of ideas for things to eat, but also because it was pretty funny how some people got concern thinking you want 100 cal "meals".
I do eat low cal meals though, because I eat 10,000 times a day (just for the record it's a joke, I don't eat 10,000 times).
Anyway, the best are home made vegetable soups, most of them will be less 100 cal. I also treat myself with those chocolate pudding which some of them are 60 cal.
It's just that 100 calories is a very small amount and it's very hard to think of foods that will fill you up and still fit into it, aside from a piece of fruit! I'm doing 1200 calories a day this week and I'm eating 200-300 calories at a time. But I made a chicken and rice soup yesterday and each bowl turned out to have exactly 100 calories... so homemade soup of any kind (as long as it doesn't have cream etc in it) is a good one!
LMFAO Smoof!!! Some people are so desperate to add thier two cents that they don't back read. Sorry you got so much flack with the meal v.s. snack debate LOL!!!!
I like carrot sticks and hummus or crispbreads with hummus, any fruit, half a Zone Perfect bar, millk (sometimes it's all you need)... as you can see very basic suggestions so thanks for getting others to help out!
100 cal ideas are great & you can even double or triple them for a "meal" lol just had to get that out there - anyways since I only had 100 cals left for dinner last night I had a large bowl of steamed veges with marinara sauce over the top, kinda of like a fake pasta bowl.
fav breakfast 100 is stone ground toast slice w/ fat free cream cheese & sugar free apricot jam with a sprinkle of ground flax seed on top
fav lunch 100 is 2 oz albacore tune w/ 2 cups of lettuce & balsamic vinegar (great esp if you know you are going out to dinner later that day)
fav daytime snack is 4 triscuit crackers w/ 1 light garlic & herb cheese wedge (laughing cow)
fav nightime snack is a large ruby red grapefruit, peeled & eaten like an orange
