Yes, I know it's not the best for us but let's face it we don't all ALWAYS have time to cook a gourmet meal.
Just wanted everyone to share their favorite low calorie fast food options. Maybe it will save someone from giving up and going with an unhealthy option sometime.
:)
If I must, I go for Taco Bell Crunchy Beef Taco Fresco Style- only 150 calories!
Reason: Released as Food Forum Sticky
I eat fast food somewhat often (probably once a week) and I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you eat nutritiously otherwise and order something healthy and/or within your calorie limits. It's probably not good to do everyday, but I think it can be a part of healthy diet. I like the mentality that no food is "bad food" it's just how much you eat of it that makes it bad.
Mcdonald's: My favorite to get is the Grilled Chicken Ceasar Salad with balsamic vinagrette dressing (no croutons) is about 260 cals. I also like the fruit and yogurt parfait 160 cals, small vanilla cone (although you have to be careful of how much they put on there, some people pile it on and others put less) is about 150 cals (i think), also their grilled chicken wraps are about 260-270 cals, and their hamburger is 250 cals.
Chick-Fil-A: Favorite is the Chargrilled chicken and fruit salad with ff italian and granola packet, about 295 cals. The Chargrilled Chicken sandwich is good too and is about 260 cals.
Subway: I always get a 6in ham on wheat with lettuce, tomato, bell pepper, onion, banana peppers, spicy mustard, salt, pepper, and oregano. It's about 300 cals.
Wendy's: Chili and a side salad with ff french is 290 cals
I like the "loco salad" at El Pollo Loco with two grilled chicken legs. Around 300 calories or so for everything & costs about 4 dollars!
Also a protein-style hamburger (wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun) from In N' Out is really good too. :]

I agree what makes counting calories work for me over "fad diets" is that I can have al least a lil bit of almost any thing! Thanks to everyone for contributing I'm excited to try the new ideas next time I'm on the go!
This isn't exactly 'fast food' as in fast food 'restaurant' (heh), but it is fast food in the litteral sense. It takes about 1 minute to prepare. I have a fridge where I work. A couple of stalks of broccoli, wash'em, turn into byte size portions, and you have a 3-4 hour hunger buffer. I will put on about 100 calories of dressing, oil and vineager or just vineager.

Walden Farms has a whole array of 0 calorie foods www.WaldenFarms.com
slushy's - 0 Calories (Slushy Express syrup) you can find on Amazon.
Sugar free popsicles and fudgesicles 10-35 Calories
Chicken bullion - 5 calories a cup
At In 'n Out you can order the burger protein style - meaning no bun, it's wrapped in lettuce instead. Tastes great and saves the calories.
I love Burger King. THank you for the Info. I eat the Whopper JRs. sometimes when I am in a hurry. They have great Chargrilled Chicken Salads too and they put all the veggies and cheese in seperated container so can put on what you want.
Some of you are really fooling yourselves about what can be considered "healthy" fast food. An Egg McMuffin might only be 408 calories, but it also contains 12 grams of fat AND 5 grams of saturated fat!! Not to mention that it is made with processed cheese and liquid margerine...whatever that is (yes I looked up the ingredients). I garantee you that there are trans fats in there. A Snickers bar would have about the same calorie and fat content..mmm healthy.
Don't even get me started on the meat they use in fast food burgers. I'm sure it's real "top grade."
When I volunteer at the Wildlife Shelter after work, I don't get home until 9:00 or later. I stop by our Duncan Donuts and grab an egg white and turkey sausage flatbread sandwich 280 calories and a large coffee. This is so filling and good!! You can get the flat bread sandwich anytime. Another thing you can do is Google fast food joints for calorie and nutrition info. Sometimes you'll be surprised what you can eat, and sometimes you will die at how many calories are in something you thought wasn't so bad!
Pita Extreme! It's like Subway but it's made with pita, and you have more choices of veggies (they have bruchetta and broccoli!) and sauces (even tzatiki). And I think their 6-inch pita looks bigger than the 6-inch sub from Subway (it tastes better too).
Their pitas range from 230-400 cals I think. Less if you have the Veggie Pita (180-190?), more if you add cheese (40 cals) or sauce.
I second the Chik-fil-a suggestion!!!!
I am a busy lady - as I am sure most of you are as well. Sometimes I have to figure out something quick and easy during the day so most of the time I head to Subway. I love the 6inch Veggie Delight with no cheese and light mayo. They also have baked Lays which are so yummy!
Another good option is just head to a quick market - I live in downtown Portland and there are a few really close. I can usually grab a hard boiled egg and banana for under a few bucks.
In the Chicago area, we have an Italian Beef chain called Buona Beef. They have 3 sizes on their beef sandwich, and the Piccolo (italian for "small") is only 300 calories. Very satisfying. I find that in most fast food places, if you can just resist the french fries, you're fine. I also like that so many places have nutritional info on their websites. That is really helpful.
I love Wendy's Ultimate Chicken Grilled sandwich. 320cal, 7g fat, 36 carbs, and 28g protein. Get it without the honey mustard and it's only 280 cal, 3.5g fat, 33 carbs and 28g protein!
Every once and while I love eating Taco Bell's 7 Layer Burrito minus cheese & sour cream. Mmmm :)
You don't need much time to make a low cal meal at home. I have two sanwiches and carrot sticks or an apple (some fruit) for 400 calories. 2 large whole wheat kaiser buns, fat free miracle whip, fat free cheese, vegi meat, lettuce. I am addicted. that is about 7 g fibre, < 2 g fat. SSOOOO YUMMY!
If you're Jones'in for something sweet and want to stay away from the chocolate, etc, try McDonald's Fruit and Yogurt Parfait! Only 160 calories and YUMMY! I make my own version at home, but with lowfat cottage cheese instead of yogurt and two tablespoons of granola on top. Yummy AND filling!

mcdonald's southwest salad with grilled chicken. love love love. only like 420 calories.
Yeah, this one!
Veggie delite subs! I'm a total carb fiend so they're pretty much my fav fast food.
Pitta bread with houmous & salad from kebab shops are neat too. As long as you forfeit any mayo / other condiments they shouldn't have more than 350 cals. They're also massive so they fill you up really well, espesh after a night out drinking.
I try to avoid fast food at all costs but sometimes, it just doesn't work.
When I must go to fast food, I have a few options:
Carl's Jr Charbroiled BBQ Chicken sandwhich is good, I ask for extra lettuce then ditch the bottom bun and use the lettuce instead.
In-And-Out cheeseburger protein style which makes it with lettuce instead of the bun.
Taco Bell has that Fresco menu with items that aren't too bad.
