Favorite Luna Flavors?

Quote  |  Reply
Hey guys, can you all give me your opinions on different Luna's you've tried? I'm trying to find out which kind I should buy in bulk. The options are either 30 bars for about $12 or 120 for about $45. I'm thinking Cookie's N Creme sound good but I've never tried it.

i've only ever had one luna bar and it was "okay", it was s'mores flavour and it kinda tasted a little funny.. and there wasn't really any s'more qualities to it. no amrshmallow chunks, no chocolate chips.. just what looked like caramel covered rice krispies with a chocolate coat.

i guess i'm just not a nutrition bar kinda gal.

i looooove luna bars- i practically live on them.

if you love chocolate, i'd go with the caramel nut brownie flavor- its got dark chocolate, d. c. chips, and caramel and walnuts. its really good.

another really good flavor is the lemon zest. also peanut butter cookie.

but my new fav is the berry almond flavor but its kind of hard to find :(

Wow thats an awesome deal! WHERE?!?!?!?!? Do tell, as that price rocks!

I loooooove Luna Bars, although I try not to eat them too often because they are addiciting (at least for me).

I actually really like the Smores one. That is typically the one I reach for the most.

The Caramel Nut Brownie is also very very good- but it's REALLY chocolately. I don't really eat chocolate much (vegan & more of a vanilla girl) so I kind of have to be in the mood for this one since it's so chocolate rich. I wish they had it with caramel nut- with the chocolate bottom layer- that would be perfer for me!

Nutz over Chocolate is also very very good. It's probably the 2nd one I reach for.

The Cookies is Cream is pretty good.

I've never had any of the fruit ones because I hate fruit in things, so I can't tell you about those.

I actually think the best ones are the ones with the chocolate bottom layer, versus the white layer of whatever it is (or no layer at all). Probably because Luna Bars are the equivalent of candy bars in my mind (& food choices) so I want it most like a candy bar!

& do tell where you get this awesome deal please!

My favorite is the Lemon Zest, but really, they're all good. I get them at school, though, and the flavor choices are limited... I've really wanted to try Iced Cinnamon Raisin (or whatever) and the Berry Almond, but my school doesn't have those... :(

They do have the Chai Tea, though, which I also like.
i love the chocolate brownie one, smores is good as well. they are all great. i guess it just depends on what you are going to use them for. if you're going to use them as a treat then go for the brownie. a snack then i'd say the toasted cranberry or lemonzest.

I like:

  • Peanut Butter Cookie
  • Nutz Over Chocolate
  • Chocolate Peppermint Stick
  • Chai Tea
  • Toasted Nuts N' Cranberry
But I hardly ever eat luna bars. They are a decent thing to eat when you can't eat a meal but they are in no way a meal replacer.

Anyway, when I do have to eat them instead of a meal I usually like the ones that don't remind me of a candy bar. Because when my stomach wants food it's more tricked by something like Toasted Nuts N' Cranberry than Peanut Butter Cookie.
My favorites are the Caramel Nut Brownie and the Chocolate Peppermint Stick.  Mmmm.
My favorites are: Carmel Nut Brownie Nutz over Chocolate Chocolate Peppermint stick LemonZEST Cookies n Cream Chai Tea

I hate: Toasted Nuts N' Cranberry- IT'S DISGUSTING, and has noo chocolate drizzle or soy protein drizzle. its gross
Thanks you guys, and by the way, I'm buyin 'em off the stores that sell through ebay. There's one in particular called wesaveyoulots.
I bought some Luna bars over the weekend because they were on sale and everyone raves about them.  I tried the Lemon Zest last night and i thought i was going to die.  It was the worst thing i have tasted in a long time and i threw it away.  Maybe it was just me but usually i like lemon stuff.  I have 6 more to try maybe i will have better luck with those.
In LB's defence, I think the lemon zest one is disgusting--it tastes just like eating a lemon straight up, IMO.  Don't let it put you off the others!
I've never eaten a Luna bar... but I just got home from the grocery store, and I picked up a s'mores one to try!

in case you all are curious why the luna bars on that site are so cheap, it's because they all have expired best-buy dates.

that said, luna bars aren't my favorite, but they certainly aren't horrible either.

CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY - its a new flavor and its AWESOME!!! Trust me!!!

Try the Luna Tea Cakes in vanilla macadamia.  I just had it today and it is the best!!!
Luna bars are mmmm mmmmm good! and good for you!! Lemon zest, Chai , Choc Pepp Stick and the vanilla macadamia are the best!

I worked at a Wild Oats Market for 5 years, and trust me - when it comes to a great protein bar (especially for women) that also tastes good - you can NOT beat a Luna!!

Where did you find that deal?
I also am not a big fan of the Lemon Zest.  I didn't hate it (well, not totally, hehe), but it definitely wasn't one of my favorites.  I only bought one to try it, and I will not be buying another.  So far, my favorites are:  Iced Oatmeal Raisin and Chocolate Peppermint Stick (tie for first place, close, but I think choc. peppermint wins), PB cookie, and chocolate caramel nut brownie.  Nutz over choc. was ok, too.  I bought a 16-pack of Iced Oatmeal Raisin from Amazon because I can't find that flavor locally.  I still look for new ones that sound good to me to try one at a time, though, in stores.  AS SOON AS I find the choc. raspberry one, I'm buyin' it!

Nutz over Chocolate wins hands down.

Lemon Zest is another favorite of mine, especially with a cup of coffee.

Iced Oatmeal Raisin is definetely my favorite. It tastes just like an oatmeal cookie to me, minus a different texture. Also, is only has 3.5g of fat compared to the 6g of fat that is in the Peanut Butter Cookie ones. I'm not sure about the fat content of the other Luna bars though.
