I heard a quote last night and, many of you have probably heard it before, but it just made so much sense.
I had never thought about how meaningful it was BECAUSE of it's simplicity...
"The more you know, the less you don't know."
I KNOW...simple to the point and applies to every aspect of every day life!
What's your favorite quote?

When you think of the long and gloomy history of man, you will find more hideous crimes have been committed in the name of obedience than have ever been committed in the name of rebellion.  - CP Snow

I love the one above.  I added it to my collection.  Here's another one that helps me keep on track.

Do you want to look back on your life and wonder what it could have been like if you had not been afraid to live it?    Caroline Myss

Here are a few of my favorites:

"Sacred cows make the best hamburger" - Mark Twain

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." - Thomas Alva Edison

"Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens." - Jimi Hendrix

And, being a computer guy, I enjoy the following ones as well:

"I think there is a world market for maybe five computers."
- Thomas Watson (1874-1956), Chairman of IBM, 1943

"There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home."
- Ken Olson, president, chairman and founder of Digital Equipment Corp., 1977

Why be normal when you can be yourself

or

You can't hide what's inside

I came across this the other day and I really really like it.  It is a quote for Ghandi    "Be the change you wish to see in the world".
"Keep passing the open windows."
- John Irving, The Hotel New Hampshire

It's a small world but I wouldn't want to have to paint it.   ~Stephen Wright

Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend: and inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.                                                                                                                                                ~Groucho Marx

There are 2 kinds of people in the world:

       1. Those who can extrpolate from incomplete data.

You can never find peace until you have found all the pieces.

"People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may just never be enough; Give the world the best you have anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it’s all between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway."

- Mother Teresa

"Be the change you wish to see in the world"

- Mohatma Gandhi

"You are who you are when no one is looking"  ~ I can't remember who said it

Il est défendu de tuer; tout meurtrier est puni, à moins qu’il n’ait tué en grande compagnie, et au son des trompettes.

Sounds better in french but the translation would be>

It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.

"If you're walking on thin ice, you might as well dance" (Unknown)

I know there are more inspiring quotations, and quite lovely ones, but the one I've got on my wall at work right now is:

"Put on your big girl panties and deal with it."

That's gotten me through many a tough day lately!

I also heard a young activist say in a speech the other day (in Spanish):

"You can't remain neutral on a moving train."

I've thought about that one a lot.

'Be careful when you fight the monsters, lest you become one.

'Freidrich Nietzsche

'Although prepared for martyrdom, I preferred that it be postponed.'

Sir Winston Churchill

'Thou shouldst eat to live; not live to eat.' ....Socrates

'This is getting in the way, and is dead.'... my sister aged ten, on a note to our mother regarding the dead flower in the vase on her dressing table.

'May I have a crowd of cookies?'... My three year old son, shortly after hearing the phrase 'Two is company, three is a crowd'.

"A bird in hand, makes blowing your nose difficult."

"Home is the place where, when you have to go there,
They have to take you in."

"I should have called it
Something you somehow haven't to deserve."
