I just saw this post as I was logging my dinner: spinach salad with a favorite of mine--sherry shallot vinaigrette. It's super easy to make:

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/8 cup sherry vinegar
2 teaspoons finely chopped shallot
1/4 teaspoons finely minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

  1. In small bowl, whisk all ingredients together.

Makes about 3/8 cup.

I put it over a couple cups of raw spinach with chopped up egg white, toasted almonds, sautteed mushroom and sweet onion and one piece of crumbled low fat, low sodiium (23 cals a slice) bacon. On the top: Shredded parmesan cheese.

It's a favorite of mine--the salad and the dressing!

I have this all natural ginger dressing - it's not meant as a dressing for salads, but for meat rub ons, but at 100 calorie per two tablespoons (all I need for five cups of salad), it's perfect =D And very flavorful

Newman's Own Lighten Up Honey Mustard Dressing (70 cals/2 tablespoons)

Ken's Steakhouse Lite Sweet Vidalia Onion (80 cals/2 tablespoons)

Sesame oil and soy sauce =]

Soy sauce (quality one), dijorn mustard with freshly ground black pepper.

UD

newman's own balsamic viniagarette, by far!!

Wishbone's Italian dressing, 90 cal for 2 tablespoons. I've had it on a salad almost every day for 6 months, and on days I don't have salad I get cravings for it!

Does ketchup count? I love ketchup on salads! Embarassed

I'm really not big on salad dressings, I like mine plain mainly! This caused so many raised eyebrows when I lived in the states, it seems that in the US a salad isn't a salad without dressing.

I like tahini or hummus on the side to eat with salad, or I like to eat salad with other 'wet' foods like pasta and sauce and eat the salad with that mixed in, but I don't think i've ever bought actually dresing in my life

Really ripe avocado mashed into fresh chopped tomato, with a tablespoon of finely grated parmesan - healthy fats, 2 portions of fruit/veg, and YUMMY!!!!

Olive Oil + Vinegar + a little salt, pepper, and garlic powder

Mine is my own brand of light italian:

1 cup cider vinegar

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 cup water

2 cloves of garlic sliced

1 large squirt of ketchup

a good shake of italian spices

a pinch sugar

a pinch of salt and pepper

Mix - let sit for a day and then enjoy :)

I'm a little weird, but these are my favorite salad "dressings"

1.  just pouring low-sodium soy sauce over the salad

2.  lots and LOTS of salt and freshly-ground pepper...yum!  and calorie-free

I recently discovered Bolthouse Farms Creamy Yogurt Dressings:

Classic Ranch has 80 cals for 2 tbsp

Honey Mustard has only 45 cals for 2 tbsp!!!

These are the only two I have tried so far (there are several others), but they are both FANTASTIC.  I am eating the Ranch with my baby carrots right now.  SOOOOOO good!!!

i like to make my own, but when i can't i use the paul newmans' italian spray dressing. very low cal.  i just used some on a salad of spinach, heirloom tomatoes, and goat cheese. you can see pics at my blog www.cooking4carnivores.com

I make this one a lot

Tangy Orange Salad Dressing

It's fat free, but does have some natural sugar from the orange juice.

Favorite? Totally unhealthy but it reminds me of my childhood..  Mayo mixed with ketchup then poured over salad!  Memories from growing up... haven't had it since I was a pre teen but still...

Hendrickson's sweet and sour marinade/dressing. Fat free. Oil free. Sugar free. and friggin fantastic!

Otherwise, I put vinegar on salad. Throw in some spices, herbs and a dash of mustard.

Bio homemade pumpkin seed oil, vinegar / lemon juice and spicy salt.

Red wine vinegar? Love it!
