With Halloween nearly here, tell me what's your favorite Scary Movie? :)

I really love the old black 'n whites, like The Wolfman, Dracula, and Nosferatu.

Psycho.

The Shining

Carrie, Salem's Lot, The Shining, The Changeling,

It really depends on my mood, but I usually don't go wrong with either Night of the Living Dead or the first Nightmare on Elm Street.

The Exorcist, Suspiria, Spider Baby, Carrie, Willard (more adorable than scary ,but it's classified as a horror film), the Nightmare On Elm Street movies, The Wicker Man (original!), Children of the Corn (more funny than scary, but I saw it as a kid so it's nostalgic to me)

I think I'm the only person in the universe who preferred the book of The Shining to the film, which is regarded as a classic.

Not a horror in the traditional sense, but Jan Svankmeyer's Alice totally freaks me out.  That frickin dead rabbit - OMG!

Alien - the original.

Oh the Freddie Krueger movies always got me!

Current - The Strangers w/ Liv Tyler....just watched it the other night, it totally freaked me out.

Classic - Poltergeist!  The clown and the tree get me everytime!

Angel Heart

Classic Halloween.....Halloween w/ Jamie Lee Curtis

Ones that have kept me from sleeping: Stay Alive, Silent Hill and The Ring (american version).

Others that I just like: Anatomy, any of the Dead movies, and 28 Days Later.

i'm with patsy: the original john carpenter/jamie lee curtis Halloween.  first horror movie i ever saw (huddling on the couch with my dad, in one of our rare moments of closeness, when i was 12).  the theme music still gives me chills.

Lost Boys, Jeepers Creepers, The Howling, American Werewolf in London, The Grudge, way too many to list.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN Everyone!

Halloween(The Original) is my favorite but I also love House of 1000 corpses, Hostel, Psycho, The Birds, Scream, The Grudge, there are so many, I love horror movies!

Evil Dead II

I agree with Ladybug--Poltergeist always scares me!

I was also really scared by Hellraiser--I think because it was just so creepy and I didn't really understand what was going on all the time.

And then I love the old 50's horror flicks where some bug gets irradiated in the desert, and the scientist and his lovely assistant (in high heels) has to go save us all from certain destruction.  Those are a blast!

"Halloween" - what an epic movie.  Classic.

I also really love "The Sixth Sense."  I mean, it's not terribly scary- it's more psychological, really- but it makes you think, and it's just a really well-done movie.
