What is your FAVORITE sushi?
List whatever roll, nigiri (raw fish on rice) or sashimi (raw fish without rice) you like best? If your pick is a special roll, list the ingredients!
Mine is the Rainbow Roll (salmon, tuna, yellowtail, shrimp and avocado on top of a california roll).
I also LOVE salmon and tuna sashimi!
No favorite- I love everything but uni, and I don't typically eat anything with tempura in it.
My favorite roll has spicy eel on the inside and salmon on the outside - YUM. - it's a special roll and it's called "The Jersey Roll". I also really like eel and avocado rolls!
My favorite sashimi is salmon and i don't really care for nigri
tuna nigiri
Salmon sashimi...so delicious. And spicy salmon rolls, the ones with the crunchy bits (I think the crunchiness is fried salmon skin or tempura, yikes! But so tasty). A place I go to has a house roll with mango and cream cheese that is also super good.
Salmon sashimi hands down. I buy sushi-grade salmon and slice it myself and will eat it straight off the cutting board. If you add a bowl of rice doused in ground sesame seeds and a few sheets of nori, all the better.
I love Uni, and faty tuna nigiri. I also like eel, but it is very caloric. :(
You guys are making me want some sushi now. I only like the rolls. I like the Rainbow Roll and the Crunchy Roll (I don't remember what's in it but it has tempura crunchies on the outside. ). I didn't know eel was high calorie, booooo on that, I love the eel with the sauce! Oh yeah, I like the Spider Roll too which is soft-shell crab.
This place I'm going to tonight has a "mango and avocado roll." Even though I'm not a vegetarian, it sounds delish!
Love the rainbow roll, order it everytime - though I order it with half the rice (something I think Eva Mendes does, read it in Cosmo a couple years ago - cuts the carbs/calories from the rice in half obviously xD). Red snapper is my fav sashimi/nigiri, though I love salmon and most of the rest of them too.
I also always order a sunomono salad (those clear noodles in rice wine vinegar - so tasty and refreshing).
Beyond that it depends who i am with. I LOVE yam tempura, and gyoza. Only get those if I am with my boyfriend though, since he *must* have something fried lol.
Usually I order another roll of some sort if I am with somene else (so many delicious options!), or if I am alone sometimes just the sunomono and the rainbow roll. "
I love edamame as well.
I just love sushi in general.
God now I m REALLY craving sushi, thanks a lot lol

Where do you get sushi-grade salmon?

Spicy tuna crunch!
After reading this, I know what I'm getting for dinner tonight.
Crab Naruto. It's crab wrapped in thinly sliced cucumber with a creamy sauce. The sauce makes it not so good for you, but it's yummy!
OOOOOO!!!!! I effin' LOVE JAPANESE FOOD! I don't eat rolls but sashimi and I get along OH SO VERY WELL... my top fav's are:
- Escolar
- Hamachi
- Sake (Salmon)
- White Tuna
- Unagi & Anago (Freshwater & Sea Eel)
- Hamachi Kama (Tuna Neck)
- Salmon Skin & Salmon Belly
- Diakon Radish (Cannot eat sashimi without it!!)
Unagi temaki, salmon sashimi, and ikura (sashimi?) by itself
Since I live near the mecca of wings, pizza, beer & snow (buffalo) good sushi is hard to find. There's one take-out place downtown, but often we get it from Wegmans. I stick to salmon, tuna and shrimp nigiri, but sometimes get their rainbow roll or sashimi plate.
I've had excellent salmon & tuna sashimi meals on business in Kalifornia though.

I've seen sushi-grade salmon at King's. I've also bought raw salmon from Costco, sliced it up, and eaten it as sashimi, but I'm not sure it's actually sushi-grade.
I love rainbow rolls and oyako rolls (fresh salmon, salmon caviar, and avocado wrapped inside out with tobiko). Dragon rolls are really yummy too.
I also love salmon, mackerel, and yellowtail sashimi. Sea urchin tastes surprisingly good as well.
I'm so glad that a Japanese buffet just opened up five minutes or so away from me recently. You can't beat $11.99 all-you-can-eat sushi lunch time on weekdays!
Tuna nigiri, salmon nigiri, and spicy tuna rolls. I'll also occasionally enjoy some Philladelphia rolls, but it's not my usual. I also like eel, be it in nigiri or rolls. I've also had some mixed salmon/tuna spicy rolls which I really liked.

I live on the Gulf in Florida and there is a local seafood shop (more like an "empire") that services all the Japanese and seafood restaurants around here. Their salmon is the absolute freshest to be found anywhere around here. :)
I am a fan of the Philadelphia roll - Made with cream cheese, avocado and Salmon. (That's a higer calorie one due to the cream cheese.)
I also dig a tuna cado roll - tuna and avocado
Yummmm - now I'm craving sushi!
