Favorite Workout Music!

Quote  |  Reply
I am getting pretty sick of the music on my iPod right now and was wondering what everyone's favorite music is to work out to!  I typically do a lot of running, and I'll listen to anything upbeat.  My taste ranges from Johnny Cash to Britney Spears to Metallica, so I'll take anything!  By the way, my favorites are:

Fuel - Metallica
Like a Prayer - Madonna
I Want to Break Free - Queen

Bring Me to Life- Evanescence (absolutely the best running song on the planet!!!)

In the End- Linkin Park

International Harvester- Craig Morgan (country fan at heart)

anything by Green Day

I find there's a lot of punk and ska on  my workout playlist. But there's also a good deal of other random things. Anything upbeat. I just updated it...some of the new stuff I put on there that really gets me going:

Rehab - Amy Winehouse

Gimme More - Britney

Supermassive Black Hole, Starlight, Hysteria, Time is Running Out - (all by) MUSE

Superrad - The Aquabats

Our Lawyer Made Us Change the Name of this Song  - Fall Out Boy

Pump It - Black Eyed Peas

Plastic Cup Politics, Short Fuse Burning, Overrated - (all by) Less Than Jake

On the Oustide, Sweat (and just about anything by) Oingo Boingo

...Oh god, I could go on and on forever. Music is the only thing that keeps me going sometimes.

I love Britney Spear's new album Blackout.  The songs Radar, Freakshow and Gimme More are great for working out!

Okay, here's my running playlist...this isn't all of them, but maybe it'll help.  I know that feeling of being so. over. your. IPod.

Here (In Your Arms)...Hellogoodbye

Wake Up Call...Maroon 5

Young Folks...Peter Bjorn

Be Good...Tokyo Police Club

No Cars Go...Arcade Fire

The World At Large...Modest Mouse

Float On...Modest Mouse

You give love a bad name-Atreyu

Free Bird-Lynard Skynard (great starting song)

Last night (remix)-Has lil kim and busta rhymes in it

Those among many more upbeat songs.  Some techno included too.

Manu Chao!

especially the bongo song! You guys should look him up if you havn't heard him before.

I'm also obsessed with the new White Stripes album. Oh yeah, and anything by Dragonette is great to workout to.

other good stuff: rilo kiley, hawksley workman, feist, bloc party, mika, tegan and sara, yeah yeah yeah's, hmmm...that's all i can muster right now.

The song that always gives me a boost when I start lagging during my run is Pink's  u and ur hand

She Drives Me Crazy - Fine Young Cannibals

Close - Gaopele

Hood Nigga - Gorilla Zoe

mac dre, e-40, jacka, yukmouth, ya boy...

BodyPump tracks for the back, chest, lunges and squats are great for running too. :)

Here's a part of my running playlist: (shoot, why doesn't it support tables?)

Famous Last Words -- My Chemical Romance

One Night In Bangkok -- Vinylshakerz

I like all the Abba covers by the A*Teens (that's right, I said it!)

Black Betty...(Band?)

We Care A Lot... Faith No More (?)

Wine Red... The Hush Sound

Best of Britney Spears album, woo! Black Eyed Peas and **** Cat Dolls.

Also Salt 'n' Peppa! ;)

I love M.I.A for working out to.  Her music has a great tempo for cardio and weights.  Also Jamaican dance hall music like Bounty Killer, Spragga Benz, and Buju Banton offer some awesome workout rhythms.
I may stand alone on this one, but I listen to metal/hard rock. It gets me pumped. To tell the truth, I listen to that all the time, but find it really makes me work harder even if all I'm doing is walking.

I like a mix of sounds when I workout.. that way I'm not stuck on the same beat. My workout play list has grown well over 100 songs... so I'll just post some old faves, and new ones.

New:

1. Switch - Will Smith

2. Low (feat. T-Pain) - Flo Rida

3. The Device Has Been Modified (From the Half Life Orange Box - yes, the video game)

Old (kinda):

1. Pride and Joy - Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble

2. Busy Child - Crystal Method

3. Meaning Of Life (Disturbed)

My favorite workout song is Heart of a Champion by Nelly.  It always makes me keep going/push harder.  I highly recommend it!!
WOW this is amazing!  Thank you so much!
