Favourite foods, average foods, and cravings

So, this came up on the weight gain forum, and it got me thinking....I don't think I really know what I like to eat anymore.  So I sat down for half an hour and made myself make three lists: One of foods I definitely like a lot, one of foods that aren't my favourites, and one of foods I don't like at all.  And then I went back, and looked through all of them, and cancelled out any thoughts that were ED based, and revised them.  And though it took like an hour it was so interesting.  Here is some of what I came up with:

Foods I definitely like a lot:

Shepherds Pie, toad in the hole, toast, avocados, apples, strawberries, peanut and raisin yorkies, cheesy pasta, paella, squid, liver and onions, vegetarian sausages, penne bolognese, wild boar and polenta, couscous, spicy tomato sauce, pork goulash, tomato and lentil soup, rabbit, roast venison.

Foods that aren't my favourites, but I quite like:

Chili con carne, rice, sourdough bread, roast pork, beef, spaghetti, roast dinners, chocolate, vanilla ice cream, apple crumble, blueberries, undressed salad, sour cream, marmite.

Foods I don't like at all:

Noodles, apple pies, artichokes, chickpeas, kidney beans, white bread, rye bread, ham, brie, cream, flapjacks, sloppy joes, bechamel sauce, anchovy paste, diet coke, sweet and sour sauce, peas.

Interesting experiment.  What do you guys come up with?

PORRIDGE; oats; roasted chestnuts; prunes; apricots dried or not; chickpeas; borlotti beans; broccoli; asparagus; garlic; prawns; mackerel; tuna; scallops; sardines; salmon; bass; crab; ice cream; brie; camenbert; roule; cottage cheese; brown rice; yorkshire pudding; sage and onion stuffing; squash; sweet potatoes; custard; tofu; soybeans; soy milk; plain soy yoghurt; bananas; pears; pine nuts; pistachios; cashew nuts; buckwheat pancakes; raspberries; lemons; chillies; peppermint; bulgar; dark chocolate; brussels sprouts; pearl barley; greek yoghurt; herbal teas; green tea.

Foods that aren't my favourites, but I quite like:

Toast; peanut butter (there's a point where you eat so much of it you can get a bit bored); avocados (see above); olive oil; sesame oil; lamb; chicken; feta cheese; goat's cheese; edam; plums; peaches; nectarines; blueberries; blackcurrants; carrots; peppers; white potatoes; tomatoes; mushrooms; mince; pinto beans; haricot beans; cheddar; peas; cod and most white fish; oysters; mussels; raisins; cakes; pickles; cucumber; wholewheat pasta; onions; eggs; mustard; vinegar; sponge (as in cake); coffee as a flavour enhancement; vanilla; saffron; strawberries; meringue; black tea; flaxseed; english muffins; pita bread.

Foods I don't like at all:

Pork; crackling; bacon; sausages (unless they are REALLY impressive); black pudding; egg noodles; very rich foods with exception of dark chocolate; very sweet foods; rosemary (too strong); horseradish; grapes; parsnips; beetroot; wasabi; sushi; blue cheese; parmesan cheese; cream; offal (that I have tried so far); white bread; white rice; pastry; salt as a condiment; iced coffees and teas; processed cheese; donuts; store-produced muffins (I DO like healthier muffins that are not the bombs you see in coffee shops, small ones, like they are supposed to be! The finest modern example of portion distortion); panini bread; mango; crisps; watermelon; sports drinks; crumpets; bagels; naan bread; poppadums; lentils; gammon; rabbit.



If I think of more I'll add! I didn't put meals in as such, but you can probably guess some of my favourite meals from those - I love shepherd's pie too! And chilli con carne or three bean. Extra spicy. x]

Oatmeal, pumpkin, whole wheat bread/bagels, peanut butter, eggs, nectarines, strawberries, carrots, watermelon, dried figs, bananas, oranges, cheese of any kind, almonds, yogurt, granola bars, pizza, brown rice, eggplant, peas in a pod, wholewheat pasta, quiche, soy anything, ice cream

Foods that aren't my favorites, but I quite like:

Granola, soymilk, blueberries, pears, peaches (too fuzzy), raisins, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, olive/ veg oil, tofu, broccoli, veggie burgers, hummus, ricotta, cottage cheese, black beans, whole wheat tortillas, popsicles, cream cheese, honey, muffins, dark chocolate, graham cracker

Foods I don't like at all:

Meat of any sort, jell-o, milk chocolate, brussel sprouts, cantelope, honey dew, refined pasta/ bread, coconut, angel food cake, pickle

Hm, I really don't have too many foods that I don't like that aren't ED based. I'll come up with some eventually!

Foods that I definitely like:
Seafood (all fish and shellfish), ice cream cake, veggie burgers, cheese, cookies, fresh/raw veggies, steamed veggies, italian dressing, french dressing, yogurt, cottage cheese, fresh fruit, mushrooms, hearty pastas, hearty soups

Foods that I sort of like:
Bread, oatmeal, cooked/processed fruit (applesauce and such), canned fruits/veggies, peas, popcorn, cheesy Alfredo pastas

Foods that I DO NOT like:
Sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, honeydew melon

foods that arent my favs but i like:

apples, potatoes, steak, yogurt, lettuce, cucumber, peas, mushrooms, chickpeas, beans, peaches, cous cous.  

foods i dont like at all:

cheese, cream ( ugh too sweet), super choclatey cake, hummus, honey, white bread, dried fruit, cheese n onion crisps, olive oil, oily/greesy foods like mc ds, raw fish, really rich heavy sauces, raisins, pickles

il add more if they come into my head!! xxx

Foods that aren't my favorites, but I quite like:

Peanut butter, pasta, tofu, muffins, oatmeal, rice cakes, chocolate pudding, cheese, asparagus, chili, tomato, cheesecake, pie, brownies, cookies

Foods I don't like at all:

Nuts, bananas, citrus fruit, cheese that has been baked and browned in the oven, Splenda sweetened stuff, meat replacements, mushrooms, oatmeal raisin cookies, must regular cake, white bread, lemon poppyseed muffins, most plain yogurt, potato chips, Sun Chips, chai stuff, milk straight up, plain potato, ambrosio "salad", things that are fried that should not be fried (example, fried cheesecake, fried twinkies) Lucozade, frapucinnos, things that are an overkill of sweetness, figs, avocado, mayonaise, cream cheese, sour cream

Theo, this is a great idea! It took me a while, too, especially since once I got started I kept thinking of more and more foods, and then couldn't figure out where to categorize them!

LOVE: bananas, peanut/almond butter, hummus & pita, greek yogurt, avocados, spinach, veggie chili, popcorn, almonds, pistachios, artichokes, grilled portabella mushrooms, daal, fresh whole wheat baguettes/bagels, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, milk, vegetarian refried beans, black beans, baby carrots, peaches/plums, zucchini, egg whites, granola, raisins, burritos, yogurt parfaits, angel food cake with fresh whipped cream, veggie burgers, grapefruits, pineapple, sushi

LIKE: frozen yogurt, sweet potatoes, apples, olive oil, tofu, setian, tirimisu, cornbread, risotto, quinoa, whole wheat pasta, Pavlovas, cranberries, broccoli, almond cheese, dried apricots, Peanut Butter Puffins cereal, brown rice, asparagus, oatmeal concoctions, Honey Bunches of Oats cereal, pretzels, baked tortilla chips, oranges, grapes, shrimp (even though I'm vegetarian now, I still crave seafood sometimes!)

HATE: egg yolks (ever since I was a little kid I couldn't eat them), cilantro, mayonnaise, butter/margarine, bacon/sausage/ham/pork, cinnamon-flavored candy/gum (though I LOVE adding cinnamon to things like oatmeal and gingerbread), green/red (not-spicy) peppers, blue cheese, Wonder Bread, molasses, macadamia nuts, relish, icing/frosting, gravy, meat in general and fake meat products that have an imitation meat taste, hot fudge, caramel, fried foods

And a couple things I couldn't decide where to put. Before I gave a damn some of my favorite foods were lasagna and goats cheese. And I loved a good bagel with cream cheese. Now I feel like I wouldn't say I LOVED any of these foods unless they were the low-fat version of themselves.  :-\

so i think i might be changing this up a bit, but im going to post foods i think i used to love, preED and that id like to be able to have more often w/o ED feelings-may be a bit unhealthy!

It's difficult isn't it!  Even more difficult when you start to separate out ed and non ed stuff.  It's been in the back of my mind all day!

I also LOVE dark chocolate brownies and HATE flapjacks!  And, I really don't like chicken....I've been thinking about it all day, I love meat, and I eat a lot of chicken, but only because it's supposed to be a lean meat, I don't actually think I like it!  It's wierd isn't it!

LOVE!!!

marshmallows(oranything like them), sugary stuff, rice/pasta/pastries, most all baked goods, cakes/desserts, processed crap, flour, starch haha i cant not stand how i feel when i touch unreal food if you cant tell, popcorn, I HATE BAR B QUE THINGS, macadamia nuts, pudding, fries, chips, crackers, poptarts, oranges or any citrusy fruit, ice tea, watermelon, bagels, oysters, scallops, dried fruit, apples(cant stand them after eatting them for 2 yrs straight), FAKE MEAT, immitation food, tofu things whatever it is, soy stuff, beans other than chick peas(i cant take the texture), peas, chili, jambalaya, liver, red beans & rice, poppin johns, greasy food, rich dishes, alfredo sauce, sloppy joes

YES!GRAVY! I totally agree Malibu!  Gravygravygravy...I used to think of it as "wasted calories" - used to fear condiments - and I remember the first time I had gravy again....swear to god, I could drink the stuff!

Oh, and I know she's not a food stuff, but man do I hate Keira Knightley...don't know why, don't know wherefore, just know I do....

Ahh, amazing idea! :D ...This is going to take me a good hour though, likely. :P
