Feedback Wanted: Korean Food Calorie List, a work in progress.
So, since I'm already keeping this info in a spreadsheet for my own use, I decided to post it on the Web for anyone to use. You can check it out here.
A couple of notes:
- I know this list is incomplete and probably missing some obvious stuff; I'm literally building it as I go along. But I am happy to add anything people want to see.
- Carb, fat, and protein numbers are all my own estimates, based on the "percentage of calories from..." data on the site. I'm not sure how accurate it is, so please treat them as a rough estimate.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the time and effort to do that.
I am sure others will find it useful as well.
Have a great afternoon,
MC
Nuzzles, I have updated the list to include plain ddeokbokki ddeok (garae ddeok), so you can calculate your recipe more accurately.
I know you posted this a LONG time ago, but I came across it while trying to search for calories of the multi-coloured ddeuk snack.
You are a life-saver!! I am going to use your information very frequently! Thanks so much
I just came across this today too. Everything I Google on Korean calories, all I keep finding is your link. But it doesn't work!! I just want to find calories in ddeok, and can't find it anywhere. I had some at a restaurant tonight for the first time ever, and I loved it! I just wanted to know how much I splurged.
it doesn't work for me either!!
This site claims to have gotten info from OP's defunct site:
http://macs-foodkorea.blogspot.com/2008/06/ca lories-in-korean-food.html
The site you linked only lists 4 or 5 meals.

This site has everything but you need to be able to read Korean. If anyone needs to know the cals in something, you can PM and I'll check it for you.
Hi, can you check the calories for kimchi chije (hot spicy soup)? No meat, no tofu.
Thanks!
114 cals plus the rice.
Is that for 1 serving? They serve it in those clay pots.... Wow, if so, that's pretty low in cal. I'm sure the sodium content is much higher tho.
Thanks again
I know. I live in Korea. The ceramic pot is one serving. Kimchi jjigae is nothing more than red pepper powder, water and kimchi at the most basic. When you add the pork, etc, the cals go up a bit. When I checked the website, that was for kimchi jjigae with no pork and no tofu.
Where is the Recipe Analyzer located?
The Recipe Analyzer is under the Foods tab. Use these steps to analyze a recipe: Find a recipe to analyze; note the number of servings... Read more
