I have been slightly overwieght and feeling horrible about myslef. depression etc etc

2 weeks ago i decided enuf was enuf. started eating nearly nothing each day like a litle bit of fibe cereal for breakfast and something small for supper or a little bit of the food my parents are eating for supper. I eat nothing inbetween but drink quite a bit of coffee and tea with 1 sugar and lil bit of milk

I went from eating whenever i saw food to controll. i feel like i own me and im forcing me to eat only what i should eat. i know that i am eating a little bit less than i should but it feels good to be in controll.

I'm loosing weight i think too, from around 83kg to aronf 79.5 in the two weeks.

i know i cant eat this little for ever but when i feel i have lost quite a bit of weight ill go onto eating more but stil stay in controll

what do you all think?

All I can say is please do this more healthily. I know Im not one to talk but I can tell you first hand how horrible eating disorders are and your jumping right into one. I know it might feel nice to lose weight so quickly but do it the healthy way and the results will last. Please.

Ditto what broken doll said.

I'm sorry, it just doesn't work.  I've done exactly what you're doing too many times to count, and the results are ALWAYS the same.  When you go back to "eating more," you will gain back everything you lost, PLUS MORE.

aaahh no no no!!

i did that for about a month and a half and lost 8 kilograms. that was cool in the beginning, but it meant that if i ate any more than a tiny bit each day i wud put on weight. ur motabolism will freak out and eventually ull just put on weight. just dont do it. it really not worth it. i started to eat proper healthy meals and now iv lost 14 kilograms just from that and a bit of exercise...and believe me, it doesnt take THAT long and the weight will actually stay off.

please be careful! =)
Wow that's a great start, you must mean 8.3 K that's about 18lbs.  I don't know you age but I would guss your under 20 and at that age it is pertty easy to drop wieight if you watch what you eat.  Everyone is right you may now need to make better choices.  I like coffee to but limit myself to 1 cup a day.  Try green tea it gives you the same lift and curb of appaite and is healthy, it will actually help clean out the system.  Several meals a day is great at small amounts, you'll lose even more wieght by choseing things like small portions of fish over red meat, peppers also help you body burn cals.  I do eggs whites and red peppers for breakfest moderate amount it really satifys the appitite.  Anyway I could go on but will spare you, keep up the mental attitude and you'll reach your goal. You'll feel better and better every day and what it does for your self esteam can not be under estimated either. Congrats.
to me you are not eating enough - and going all day between breakfast and supper on just liquids is not healthy - have tried it and made myself bad.

eat small healthy meals and exercise - weight will stay off better.

you find you will lose weight with what you are doing but if you then start eating a bit more it will all soon go back on - have been through this too.

please be very very very careful

Dont be another victim of the "illusion" that your are loosing fat, because you are not.

you are loosing weight (muscle and fat)

and if you carry on with this then you are gonna gain every bit of fat back just as quickly (and the muscle will still be gone)

rather excersise and eat what you want. hell, i eat at least 3000 cals a day and am loosing fat!
I was very active at one stage. Played squash everyday and played hard (for those of you who don't know squash... its hard work) and i was not loosing weight. At the time i wasnt particularly interested in loosing weight but i did notice that all the sport didnt kill off the fat.

with this new thing i am loosing wieght at a good rate but i feel so depressed (some may know how it feels to hate urself) that i want to not eat.

I hear you with all your warnings that all the fat will go right back on when i start eating again. But how much food is enough. how much food a day will keep me healthy but loose weight. Im 16 male and overweight at 78 kgs.
i dont know why but i find somethink so ironic yet funny with boys under 20 years old on diets =\ i carnt even imagen it either but i can imagen them at the gym =p
Maybe playing squash didn't get rid of any fat because you weren't watching what you were eating?

Be more active, even if it's walking 20 minutes a day (do what you can). And then just make sure you're taking in healthy calories, and the right amount of calories to keep you going (there are plenty of calculator type things on this site to help you). Don't starve yourself though, that doesn't do any good.
