I never thought about that. Is that a bad thing?

I love corn. Love love love it.

Eating corn is an excellent way to time how long it takes food to pass through your digestive system.

oh yeah this girl i know used to be a software engineer, she now does colonics, but she told me a list of foods she constantly sees that comes out whole. corn, shrimp, raw peppers, and cant remember the rest.

my mother used to make cornmeal porridge all the time when i was younger.

how do you get from software engineer to colonics?!

Corn is like the pig of vegetables.  A wonderful, magical vegetable.

It's only a vegetable if you eat it raw.  Once you cook it it's a grain.

I have no idea where I learned that or why it's true.

HA!

cool! so raw OR cooked. just not dried = veg.

I was thinking I was supposed to start eating it raw or something.

Since it's a fruit and a vegetable and a grain, you could apparently just eat corn all day and fulfill most of your dietary requirements.

No wonder you crap it out whole.  Your intestines have no idea what it is.

Actually, the "chew" advice is pretty good.  I believe it's only the outer husk of the corn kernel that is not digested. The soft, "innards" of the kernel are.  (Hope that's true; I'm too lazy to research it and include a link!)

Let's apply for a government grant to study The Cornholio Effect.

I think there's big money in it.

You'd have to soak the grain in some sort of quicklime for the nutrients to be useful, else you'd suffer from pellagra.

No.  Unless you feel threatened by The Cornholio Effect.  In which case, you're weird and I think we should also apply for a government grant to study you.
