Answer
Embarrassment about eating in front of others has to do with the way you feel about yourself. The embarrassment could be based on general feelings of low self-esteem, but may also indicate an eating disorder or a problem with social anxiety. Anyone who has been criticized for their eating habits during childhood probably carries those scars. In addition, overweight people can feel the spoken and unspoken criticism of others, and so may think they don’t deserve to eat or that they should put on a good show. Try to figure out the reason for your embarrassment and challenge yourself eat without shame. Seek professional help if the issue is too difficult to tackle alone.
