Eh, it happens. I know when I hadn't weighed myself in a while and was absolutely POSITIVE I'd gained a million pounds, it turned out I lost 6. It felt like a twilight zone moment.

You're going to have a few fat days, just remember that they're all in your mind. It's probably because we're paying a lot more attention to how our body looks/feels that we notice things we didn't before, and assume we're getting fat. Just my theory.

Thanks, it just made me think maby i was losing muscle not fat and i was woried!!! I'll try and think positave from now on!!!

You are probably like me ad obsessively look in the mirror. I swear my mirror is out to sabatoge me! Because if I don't look in the mirror (or look as sparingly as possible) for a few days and catch my reflection in a window or something it's like d*** who's that hottie?! haha. oh wait, that's me!

ah yeah. i dont understand the phenomenon either. i havent lost/gained any weight yet im up a size. cant fit into half my pants > <

I know its quite confusing.

Also now every time i walk past the scales i have to weigh myself, i just get curious, and i'd physically die without a mirror!!! if i haven't looked in one 4 a few hours i look in the reflection of cars, and as they are strange shapes i look morbidly obese in them and i get realy worked up about it!!! lol i'm really obsessive!!(sometimes i'll listen to the same song over and over again 4 no reason)

Ew ... fat days. Well, there's reason they don't make scales out of eyes (weeeird mental image...) so I'd go with the numbers. Also, pretty soon your clothes will start feeling looser and if you buy a tape measure you can see how much you're losing in inches.  Fat days can't argue with that...

Also remember that you'll feel a little heavier if you've just eaten or are bloated. Plus embarking on a diet will mean that you're paying more attention to your body shape than you did before, which will inevitably mean you notice any bits you don't like.

Good luck. Smile

I feel your pain.  I feel like that everyday of my life : (
but I'm sure you look beautiful after losing 3 lbs!!! good job : )

At least you lost weight! :D

If you're feeling miserable, hopping on and off scales all the time and checking out your reflection obsessively, that's something you have to consciously stop doing.   It'll only make you feel worse.

how much do you weigh?

The mind plays dastardly tricks on you.

Although some areas never look the way you want them too, ive got strechy skin under my chin so it's never really looked the way I wanted it too.

Conversely i ate loads at christmas especially stilton and did no ecercise and got up to around the 10 stone mark and the only thing I noticed was more fat round my belly and thighs, i didnt wet myself in terror till I weighed myself the day before I went back to uni.

I weigh 10stone 11 lbs (151lbs) and i'm 5'7 and as i'm only 14 i'm a v.lttle bit overweight, i'm aiming 4 like 9 stone (depending on what i look like!!) (126lbs i think!!) so yer i need to loose weight coz i recon i might b a bit more confident, and i'd love to fit back into my size 8 jeans!! (us size 4 i think!!) And i also spend my whole summer on the beach, even when its cold!! So i'd like to b able to wear a bikini without being self concious (not that i wouldn't anyway!!)
