Do you still feel flabby/fat even though people call you skinny?
OK so I think I would definitely fit into this category. I know I'm not fat but I feel like I have a lot of fat on my body and that I'm not very fit. A lot of times people are always like you're so skinny, but, I know that they don't seem my stomach or my thighs so I want to fix that. I've always hated my abs and I feel that they've never been anything but flabby. So if you only need to lose 5-15lbs and you want to tone up so that you think you're skinny too then post your stats and we'll start a weekly group with weigh-ins and support. I'll start:
Age: 18
Height:5.5 1/2
Starting Weight: 128
Goal Weight: 115
Part you want to tone up:
abs & thighs
Favorite part: My booty! haha
HEY :]
Are you just starting today, so your starting weight is your current weight?
We have pretty much the same stats, I am about to be 18. 5'5.5
Start weight: 135-140
Current weight: 122
Goal weight: 110-115
After I reach my goal I want to tone up everything :] I want a hoooot body! LOL. My booty is probably my favorite part too! I have about 12 more pounds to go and I cant wait to get to that goal already! Its going to take me about 5-6 weeks I hope.
yeah my starting weight is what I am right now, but, I didn't start my diet today. haha I want a hot body too! I'm sick of always having to stick a purse in front of my stomach or covering it with my arms. lol I want people to be like oh my gosh check her out!!
I knooow.
So what are you doing to lose weight?
Like how much calories per day? And how much do you work out?

yeah alot of skinny people are flabby(ectomorph) with is why im working on gaining 5lbs of muscle wich is going to be hard i have a hard time gaining muscle its so annoying. i hate when people assume that if your thin then you dont need to work out wich is WRONG, that is all the more reason to work out. if your a small fraimed women then you NEED strenghth training to prevent osteoporosis.
Yeah I plan to lose my weight, and then gain muscle mass :]
me too!!
i need to lose all of my belly fat before school ends and swimming parties come!! xD
i weigh 99 lbs, and i want to stay under 100 and maybe lose a little, but mainly i just want my stomach to stop looking pregnant
and im a shorty -___- so dont call me anorexic

Well I eat around 1200-1300 cals a day and I hardly ever get a chance to work out because I don't have a gym membership but I am getting one this week so that will definitely change! I would try working out outside like running but when I run I have really bad chest pains that my doctor thinks is related to possible asthma so until I get tested (next tuesday) for asthma I can't do anything outside. But when I do get my membership I'm going to try really hard to go at least 2x's a week and hopefully 3. See my problem is that from 2005-2006 I dropped nearly 20 lbs (from 133 to 114) and then I shot back up and now I'm trying to get back down to the 114 that I loved! It's so hard when you achieve an awesome weight and then you're forever trying to get back to that.
Yeah I know how that is :]
Today is actually my workout day and I kind of dread it! LOL. I mean if I had a gym membership that would be bomb, but they are expensive when your going to college lol. So I try to run at the park and do pilates in my living room.
I really dont see how goals are unrealistic. I mean if we weighed that for a LONG time forever, and someone died in the family and we went into depression and ate and ate and ate and ended up gaining 20-25 pounds WHY we cant be the HEALTHY HAPPY 110-115 OR 114 WEIGHT? like seriously.
If the BMI calculator says your goal will make you underweight then it is an unrealistic goal. Forcing your body to weigh less than it should (and yes I do believe in "naturally small people" because I have met them and they eat more that 1200-1300 calories) is not a healthy lifestyle and it will cause you problems.
KUMI-
I really dont think you know what your talking about, and that you should just not talk anymore.
Kumi's right.
For what it's worth.
I'm in good shape. My BF% is 17.5, I'm an athlete...but I can't manage a bikini.
But I'm fine with that. I'm not model material, but I've always put health over beauty.
Age: 17 (almost 18)
Height: 5'2"
Current weight:115
Goal weight:105
I know I'm not overweight by the charts but I feel absolutely disgusting. Like my thighs rub together when I walk and there are wrinkles of fat on the side of my back. Plus I look like I'm pregnant and there are huge rolls of fat on my stomach when I sit down. Nasty!
I have to still say, as I have said before KUMI IS WRONG.
Go to this website, it will tell you if your healthy or not.
Plus HEALTHY IS:
Eating 5-6 times a days to keep your metabolism going.
Exercising at least 3 times per week, cardio and weight training.
Eating healthy, portions of protein, carbs & fats.
Not eating junk food, and sugars all the time.
Eating 4-5 servings of veggies, or fruits a day.
Women eating a minimum of 1200 calories a day. They say take your weight and times it between 10-13 is how much you should be eating for example 122x10=1220-1586 <- So between that for someone who is 122.
Teens and adults can weigh totally different, being teens meaning up to 20.
ALSO being healthy is building a relationship with yourself confidence that your body is beautiful, and you should be happy. If you see girls that are 5'0 and weigh 100 pounds JUST remember oh thats like me being 5'6 and weighing 130. So basically you ARE the same weight but you arent you know?
Just because someone weighs 99 pounds means that you can because they probably are 4'11 and you probably are 5'6 there is a total difference and really I dont think that girls get that. PLUS, there is really nothing unhealthy about wanting to be at the bottom of the healthy end? I mean I would work my way down so that if I do slip up that I am still going to be in the healthy end. Thats WHY they make a underweight and overweight and HEALTHY range. YOU CAN go to the minimum healthy preferably probably 3 pounds above that healthy low end so that if you do fluctuate you are not going to be 3 pounds underweight so that you will always be at a healthy weight. You just need to be smart about it and give your body the right things.
Something that might be good for one person might not always be the best for the other person, plus people dont know how you carry your weight. Some women carry there weight AMAZING, but some women dont so 10 pounds on someone that carrys good could look like someone gained 20 pounds on someone who doesnt carry weight good.
EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT.
I do think that eating only once a day is wrong. Skipping meals is wrong. Eating fast food is bad for your body and organs. I think that you do need to eat healthy fat so that you can keep your period. I think that for people that have a problem they need professional help, or need to cope with it because at first I would see girls oh I want to weigh 99 pounds and I assumed no way the BMI says thats underweight but now that I think back they were a teen and it probably wasnt. Plus I use to think ugh they only weigh a 100 pounds and didnt even put into account how tall they were.
Sorry for my vent. I am just so fed up with this.
Some of this is facts, and some of its my opinion.
GREAT thread! this totally happens to me all the time, and i really do want to feel as skinny as i've become.

Goodluck on your unhuman journey.
wow some people are really rude on here... Im kinda in the same boat. I got pregnant and gained alot of weight. I weighed 125 before pregnancy and then 179 after I had my daughter. I have lost alot of weight but i got all that stretched out skin. EWWWW . I hate it but realize its never going away. So im wanting to tone and maybe lose 5 more pounds. Here is my stats

Starting weight: 145
Goal weight: 125
Part to tone up: stomach
Favorite part: Legs, if only they had some tan...
are we just doin the weekly group on here???
This is a good idea for a thread!
Before I went to college, I was very skinny to the point where I looked unhealthy - about 100 lbs at 5'5". Size 0 jeans were loose on me, I had no boobs, etc. I never dieted or had an eating disorder, though. In fact, I ate like a pig. Very unhealthy food, all the time. I did play year round soccer, however, and had a steady boyfriend so I was having sex all the time, haha, and honestly I think that had something to do with my not gaining weight. TMI, I'm sorry. Anyway, I got to college, broke up with the boyfriend, stopped playing soccer, started binge drinking three to four times a week, continued to eat unhealthily, and came back for thanksgiving break only to weigh myself and realize that I weighed 135 lbs. That was a bit of a slap in the face. So I started to work out liked I used to and eat healthily, and now I'm down to 128. I do love my body now - I look healthy, not like a stick, and the weight gain I had gave me a butt! I do need to lose a few pounds though, tone up my legs and arms, and get my abs back. So, here goes!
Age: 19
Height:5'5"
Starting Weight: 128
Goal Weight: 120 by june, and, ultimately, about 117 by the time I go back to school at the end of august.
Part you want to tone up:
abs, thighs, arms
Favorite part: My butt!
Good luck everybody!
not really that young.. but close
