Weight Loss

I left later from my house than I wanted to last night, and had to drive four hours back to base. I always bring some crackers or something to munch on with me. This time I brought a lot of stuff. I ate a lot of it. I usually try to only eat 1300 calories a day since I started my diet. I am not quite sure how many more than 1300 I ate last night in the car, but I am going to bet it was a lot. On top of that, it was from 8 to 1230 at night that I was eating these things. Sooo.... now I feel guilty. And even though it is impossible, I feel like I gained a few pounds just from that. Although Im aware that isnt true .... that is what it feels like. So then I get discouraged and want to quit. I just wish I could stick with something. If anything I wish it could be this. :( Im doing good this morning despite the feelings of guilt. So I guess I will just have to see how the rest of the day goes.
Had to get that out.

Sometimes you have to put your binges in the past and start over from square one. Don't try to make up for your error last night, just continue with what you've been doing so far.
Sometimes our emotions make us eat more or less on certain days, but giving up isn't the answer.

Congratulations on doing good today. Don't beat yourself up. All we can do is take ip one day at a time. Don't give up because you are worth it!!
Don't give up!! I know you can make it. :) When I've been looking up quotes lately I keep running across ones about carrying on, but this one I think works the best for me when I've eaten something I shouldn't have or more than I needed to or didn't work out or something.

We're all gonna have days we're "bad", but I think we need the bad sometimes too! Just start over today...every day's a new day! :)

Try not to beat yourself up about it. Sometimes those guilty feelings just make you eat more. Try to get some exercise in today, drink plenty of water, and Don't Give Up!!:) (((HUGS))) And we all go through this. You're not alone:)
Everyone slips up once in a while. Don't worry about it, just start new today. Don't worry about yesterday. It is gone and over. Don't try to make up for it today either, or you will just feel deprived today. Just make a fresh start, no big deal.
Wow... Linda...That quote is amazing. Thank you so much. I am going to print that out and every time I feel like this again I am going to read it. THANK YOU!!! And thank you everyone else for the support. It really does help. I feel better. Thank you. :)
Yeah, it works pretty well for me when I screw up. :) I actually found it in the "Slappy's Positive Quotes are Back!" thread in the motivation section, so if you ever need more check in there! There's plenty of good ones! :)
Glad you feel better! Sometimes all we need is that little extra boost from people who want you to suceed. :)

The poem in this thread helps A LOT for those bad days too....I'm a total quote person, so I just had to share it! :)

I never worry about a single day's count. I'm all about averages - if my seven day average is good, I'm cool.
Thirty pounds so far!

Linda thank you again!!! Man, that was so awesome.
Um, a simple question: why are you only eating 1300 calories?

Well I put in my goal date and it said that I should eat 1300 calories a day to reach my goal weight by that date. Honestly, Im new to the whole losing weight the right way thing, and a lot of this confuses me. Im not sure how many calories to eat... and Im definitely not sure how many calories to eat on days where I go to the gym.... Im confused. Which I really dont like being. Usually I can figure things out for myself... but uh.. haha... not with this.
im guessing ur either in the military or a dependant? dont feel so guilty.. everyone has slip-ups.. next time instead of packing junk food u can try carrots, celery, sunflower seeds etc. When i go to PT i go to get the most our of my exercise.. im still new to losing weight thing as well so i just make sure im on or near my calorie intake and exercise accordingly. if i ate too much the day before i just tack on 10 more minutes of running or 30 crunches to even it out in my head. I think u will be fine. everyone is allowed a slipup. i have had a few if u read my journal, but once you start seeing the change in your body u will want to keep at it.. it will become a habit.. like and addiction to exercise.. at least i hope.
By now you have heard it more than once"when you fall, just dust yourself off and try again". Instead of crackers try other tasy options like baby carrots and raw veggies that you can stand. Keep your head up
Thank you very much Messam for the movtivation. I am indeed in the Military. I am a Marine. We PT three times a week in the mornings. And usually I go to the gym after work in the evenings, but I havent lately because I dont think I have this losing weight stuff down yet. From reading all of these posts I dont think Im eating enough... I dont want to go into starvation mode. I usually only eat 1300 calories a day because that is what the website told me I had to eat to reach my goal date. But its been a week and I weigh the same. So Im guessing that I am not eating enough. I am going to up my calorie intake to 1500 and see what happens I guess. The exercise isnt my problem... hahaha. :) They make me exercise and then I go on my own. But no weight loss... :( Like I said I am going to up my calorie intake. Thanks for listening and thank you for the reply. I hope everyone has a good day!!!

i 1st started exercising in december took 2 weeks off for leave and came back strong in january. when i started i was 155 and going to the gym everyday, i didnt start to lose weight until 1/2 way through last month... so that meant a month of going to the gym damn near everyday without a pound lost. i never really believed that fat could turn into muscle but the more i exercised and didnt lose weight i became a believer. i started by running a mile everyday and i have gotten to the point where i can run 2.5 miles and feel fine. now its march 15 and im losing weight steadily. it may not be significant but i will take the pound or 2 every week and a half. i know its seems like forever but keep at it.
