I feel incredible.

At 247, I am 35 pounds down from my start weight.  I am taking incredible care of myself, not depriving myself of my beloved bean & cheese burritos (I go light on the cheese and beans in the kid's meal burrito and enjoy a small serving of chips and salsa with it!) or incredible tofu dishes.. and I eat so much healthier.  I go for brown rice instead of white, and I now prefer it, and hardly eat white flour anymore with the exception of the tortilla on my burrito or once in a while a slice of pizza (yes, ONE slice of pizza!)

Anywho, my body is thanking me for this.  I fit into cute clothes for the first time in a LONG time, my hair is looking better than ever, my acne is starting to clear up a little more, I have more energy, my knees don't hurt 100% of the time.. I'd say now only 30% of the time, only after working or working out sometimes.. I feel incredible.  My back hurts a lot less because my cup size is getting smaller (went from popping out of a DD to fitting quite well in a D), my arms are getting much smaller, and I just all around feel better.  I also am not getting sick as much anymore like I did when I was eating bagel bites for breakfast, grilled cheese for lunch, and french fries for dinner along with a ton of ice cream, regular pepsi, regular sprite, several fruit juices that probably had no fruit in them, etc., all day.  I actually feel INCREDIBLE now.

Anywho, anyone else want to share a story of small successes related to their health?  I mean, sure, I've only lost 35 pounds and I need to lose at least 50 more, and then after that point, I will just continue to feel healthy and be healthy until my body chooses the perfect weight for me, whether it's 195 or 175 or even 150.. we'll see :)

Congratulations!  You sound like you are making a lot of healthy changes, even more than I have managed.  Keep up the good work!

good for you kate, you're doing awesome!

The great thing about your story is that you're doing everything right and you're enjoying yourself.  It's incredibly important to have those other 'successes' in your mind rather than judge everything by what the scales say. The weight matters, but you're also feeling healthier, your clothes fit better, you've got more energy, fewer aches and pains....  that will keep you going to a healthy weight and you'll also be motivated to maintain that healthy weight because you know how bad it felt otherwise.

And I love the fact that whilst you prefer good wholesome food you're still having the occasional, managed bit of junk as part of the mix.  That's another like *ker-ching* that means you're not only likely to lose the weight but that you're a lot less likely to go back to all the old habits and regain it in the future.

Well done so far and good luck

Thanks everyone :)

I really feel like this is a true lifestyle change, and it's the most amazing thing ever for me.  I don't think I've ever felt so proud of myself.

Thanks again everyone!

yay!  rock on and keep up the amazing work!
