Do you ever feel like your food log is not accurate?

Sometimes, I feel like I eat a lot more than the calories that are up there. I try to be as accurate as possible, and I feel pretty confident about the numbers when I'm the cook. But, for example, today I went out to eat at my favorite pizza place by the University, they specialize in making these gigantic pizza slices, it's pretty cheap (student friendly Laughing), and the pizza is really, really good. I like too that even though the pizza's huge it's not greasy at all (compared to regular pizza), they seem to only use mozzarella (unless you specifically ask for some other cheese), and even though the slices are huge they are pretty thin. so I log it in as 2 slices of generic "pizza" in the calorie counter database, because I think it's about two slices and also I think regular pizza has a lot more oil than this pizza. Today I had sundried tomatoes and mushrooms on my slice and I had a really hard time finishing  (I usually don't have a hard time at all) the whole thing. But it could be that maybe since I'm eating smaller meals since starting cc, my stomach has shrunk a little bit and it takes less for me to feel full. 

I don't know, I tried to be as accurate as possible with my log but it says I've only eaten about 1,100 calories today (my daily goal is 1400, I'm 5'9 163 lbs Goal weight is 149, I started at 169). So far calorie counter has been working great for me. I don't want to under eat, but I feel rather full. I just have a feeling that there are some hidden calories somewhere that I am missing. I don't want to over eat either, because I had a sedentary day...

Easy peasy.  If you're not hungry, don't eat anything.  If you wake up extra hungry tomorrow, have an extra egg or piece of toast.  I think it's perfectly fine to listen to your body--it knows what it needs.  Mostly, it's great that you recognize when you're not hungry!  

^Totally. That really is the bottom line.

The generic numbers Calorie Count provides for prepared foods are totally arbitrary. We ordered pizza yesterday from our local place that provides nutritional information.

One slice of Pagliacci's hawaiian with jalapenos (*gasm*) has approximately 280 calories.

Today I had 1/2 slice for lunch & entered it under the generic "Pizza with meat, cheese & vegetables" & Calorie Counts' value for one whole slice was 184 calories.

The total calorie geek in me is now wondering if they translated in grams somehow & wishes I would have weighed the peice to see, not for numbers sake, for pure geekdome.

Regardless, if you get a headache, eat something. Your body needs food. If you're not hungry, feel happy and full. Pizza is delicious.

Thanks for your advice! I ended up not eating anything, but I think that I had over my calorie allowance, because I gained .2 lbs (haha). Maybe not, it could just be normal fluxuations. I'm one of those people that weigh's themselves every day, it helps keep me motivated and realistic about my body. I think next time I go, I'll skip the sundried tomatoes, because I'm almost certain they probably soak them in olive oil or something. 

I always weigh my food in grams and enter that into cc - it's way more accurate!

Most sundried tomatoes are soaked in olive oil - that could be why u felt fuller faster.  But also, your stomach probably did shrink a bit. Also, mushrooms + tomatoes = extra fiber = extra full.

^Me too. Without weighing I either under or overestimate the quantity of food. Medium apple? Small apple?

Anyway, I weighed 1/2 of my slice & it was 2.5 grams, the same as calorie counts weight for one slice.

good info guys!! lol i just logged in pizza today too and was like. "why is it so little calories?!" so i put in more that i ate. its wierd tho!

I just wanted to add that Pagliacci's slices are skinny & thin crusted. I'd imagine that the average slice of "normal" chain pizza is 4x the size & weight.
