I'm so stressed right now, and I want to do is eat a cookie. Today, everything was fine. Then the work piled on, and the stress rose.

I was doing fine. But then I had a sprite, and I felt horrible. I know it's not that much, but I still feel horrible. Then I ate dinner that my grandmother from Mexico made, and I looked it up and logged it. I still have an A- for the day, but I feel like everything is crap right now.

This is really hard. And I don't know if I'm losing anything because I don't have a scale! Nor do I have access or money for one. The only way I will be able to weigh myself is when I go back to PA to visit family. I'm worried that I'm going to fail. I know it's negitive thinking, and I shouldn't do that. I know I need to be positive, but it's so hard to be positive when I feel so crapy. *cries*

if u want a cookie then eat a cookie. Just work it in to ure calories :). It doesnt matter what u eat . If u burn more calories then you consume then you will lose weight.
My dinner just put me close to my daily calories. :-( I didn't even eat all of it. I hate half of what was on my plate. I ate the chicken because I wanted the protien. But it's not just the food. My husband is stressing me out to get this menu I'm designing for him done. And so I'm already upset from that. Then I feel like I've eaten bad today. So there's more on top if it. I just want to cry. I feel like I'm going to fail. I don't want to. I just want to make CC work. I really do. Nothing else has worked for me, and I so badly want this to work!

Hi heather e motter,

first off don't give up. if you give up you can't be there for the rest of your family and friends.  first off keep in mind that keeping to the calorie goal is great. I can't tell you how many times I surpassed the goal.  can you design a menu that you both can use? compromise maybe. This will work as long as you realize that it didn't take you a day to gain it and it won't take you a day to lose it. pick small goals like meeting the calorie intake. this is perfect. if nothing else goes right, at least you have this. take each day as an individual day. know that you can't make up the goal at the end of the week. each day is its own race.  I often have to have different food for me. It is hard. my man is a negative person. and often makes fun of my goals. this site has helped me the most. write me  when ever it gets crazy. I check the mail several times each day.

I have a "minimum" day and an "okay" day and a "great" day plan

all have different amounts of time to devote to exercise. I am willing to help you and in turn this will help me. let me know if you want help.
I would love to have some help. I don't have a whole bunch of time to work out but I'm trying as much as I can.

The menu I'm designing is actually a menu for the restuarant that he works at. I'm a graphic designer, so I'm redesigning it for him. I can't really compromise much more than I already have.

I just get really depressed some times when I get stressed and it's hard for me to stay true to what I know needs done.

cool, I hear you loud and clear. I have a job and then some. work every night and often time in the morning when I should be workingout. Know that if you can work out in the morning, if it is S** your motabolism will be raised for the day.  My bad day workout is stuff I can do at my desk.  I work in an office and at a desk at home.  I even sit at my side jobs.  so here it is my bad day workout.

I have a dictionary that I do lateral side lifts with at work. 3 sets of 15 reps. I do chest presses every time I use the restroom (don't forget to wash your hands)  if I feel a bad day coming, I start in as a way of feeling like my world isn't getting the best of me. I  have an hour lunch and I walk for the last half hour of it. if It is raining, I take the stairs up and down for as long as I can, because I can't do stairs for a half hour. I hold my stomach in as tight as I can for ten seconds for each rep and do as many of these as I can physically take.  all of these things are done during the course of the whole day and while it may not burn a lot of calories, I feel like if I can at least get to this goal I can start fresh with a new day.  I am willing to come in third for my race of the day but not last.

Do you want more info or is this too much? I don't want to bore anyone.
I know this post is probably inappropriate, but my weakness is definately Mexican food, I just don't know when to stop!
but I do think a scale is #1

hi cperrywebrat,

have you tried a smaller plate or sharing a meal with the people you go with. if you go with four folks order three meals and an extra plate. when the food is gone, your done. if this is too much, then order two meals and two clean plates, we always share, it gives us varity and just enough.

she could use a tape measure and as she firms the inches will fade away.
Thank you for the workout ideas! They're so helpful! I only think is I work right at the door, so when people come in they see me. I think I would be embarressed if someone walked in while I was lifting a dictionary! lol. But I do see the point. That's a wonderful idea! I think I'm going to do some of those at work when I can.

I could use a tape measure for the time being! Except... sadly i don't have one! :-( But I'm going to a sporting goods store with my hubby tomorrow morning and I'm going to pick up some free weights! So maybe I'll take a look at the scales...

Anymore workout ideas are GREATLY appreciated!
Heather, I just sent you a PM.  Please check your inbox!
Hey there.. don't give up! Everyone has days like that..
deep breath, deep breath!  (if you have access to a public gym or workout room, usually they have a scale you can use.)

Even if you can't weigh yourself, hang in there.  It IS tough and it IS hard but that means you have to be that much tougher.  And I think you really can be that tough and persistent -- you're here, writing about it.  And you're not eating the cookie!

It may help to take a nice soothing bath or give yourself a foot massage (or get someone to give you a back rub) or heck, do your nails!

do you have a piece of string or a ribbon?  It's not a tape measure but it will help you determine if you're shrinking.  (Use white out or a pen to mark how much string/ribbon goes around the body part.  How far you can wrap a towel around yourself isn't bad either.)

alot of us eat during both highs and lows - and i can emphathize, its hard - if ur overweight you will have learned to be very sensitive to put downs and perception can be wrong, and there seems to be alot of injustice around us - make a decision to put your health first - we make decisions every minute of our waking day - before making any decision ask yourself if it is harmful or beneficial to your health - and if you should make a bad decision from time to time (as we ALL do) remember tomorrow is a brand new day with no mistakes in it - good luck
Hey dude,

one of the best ways i deal with stress is through exercise. I mean i don't always make it to the gym, but blasting music, and running or elliptical-ing, or biking, or whatever really helps me becuase I can talk to myself, vent, or whatever and the adrenaline rush afterwards is a blessing.

Lol, i wish I used this method more than I do--but it really does help. When I'm at the point of tears, I just push myself physically and it becomes great energy.

hope this helps

I'm starting to eat a bit better, and I'm trying to work out more. but for the last 2 days I could barely move. Damn that Carmen Electra and her Striptease workout!!! AHH! Anyway, tomorrow is a new day, so I'm going to get up early and go run at the beach. If it's raining, I guess I'll be running in my rain boots!
