feeling disgusted with myself

Quote  |  Reply

hey guys,

i've been dieting and exercising for about two weeks now. i took my measurements a few minutes ago, and apparently, i grew an inch in my waist, an inch in my bust and lost two inches in my hips.

although i've checked the scale (i've lost about 4.5lbs), i feel as if it was mostly water weight. and now i feel very, very discouraged - mostly because of the increase in my waist.

help :[

Thats great progress for 2 weeks, dispite "growing" an inch or two?  What did you expect?

I would measure monthly and make sure you measure exactly what you did before.....and even then look at the progress over months, rather than weeks because, really, its hard to measure exactly the same repeatedly.

Even over the last few months for me...at 17.5 pounds lost....my measurements go up and down in places....as long as its overall loss...Im happy

weight and inches lost takes TIME.

thanks for your kind words :]

i'll try to be more patient

I was trying not to be too snarky :D youre doing good!

Do not worry about it! You may have been dehydrated on the day you took your first measurement - or had more contents in your bowels this time - both of which could explain the discrepancy.

You've lost nearly 5 lbs in two weeks, and 2 inches (!) off your hips - that is great progress!

You can't have everything all at once. Slow and steady wins the race.

Congrats on the 2 inches and 5 lbs lost!  Wooooohoooooo!

If you are close to, or having, your period that will also affect measurements, so bear that in mind.  To get more accurate measurements you  need to measure yourself once a month, at the same time of the month.

Congrats again!

Sounds sooo good to me!! You are doing great!!!  just remember, this program is for life.  So cut yourself some slack, and keep doing what you are doing.  Good resilts will follow!! CoolCool

I recently read an article about crunches and ab exercises building muscle and increasing the size of your waist. Maybe you are doing to many crunches. Congrats on the hip loss and 5 lbs! Thats awesome!
