So, I absolutely HATE the feeling of being full...like you know where your belly feels all pushed out and you feel discomfort, some times it happens just because you've drank too much liquid at dinner or something. but anyways, i've always really hated that feeling and so I try not to eat to that point. But if i do eat til I feel that i'm full, i'll just continue to eat...like a binge. But it's only if I reached that full feeling originally. This is a weird situation but it's happened for a while now, what could be the reason? Is it just a mental thing, where since I already am full I don't mind eating even more bceause I'll know I will already have the discomfort?
I'm exactly like you. I like to eat untill I'm "comfortably full" and whenever I pass that comfort zone, I'm prone to crazy binging. Problem is, it takes very little to get me comfortably full :/, so I am at a loss as well.
I guess it is a mental thing if you're not depriving yourself of any nutrition. The best advice I can give is to think before eating and eat slowly so that you dont get to that binge point. If you're like me and feel full real easily, then go for higher calorie foods so you can eat less by volume.
Sorry I cant help much. I'm curious about other replies though ^^
WOW...that is so crazy that you would bring this up in a forum because last night I had the SAME thought! If I pass the point of being full I keep on going and going and going. Like my hand to my mouth with a utensil takes over my brain and will power! But, when i eat only a certain amount of food and I'm not stuffed but I'm comfortable I don't even have the urge to eat anything after! I pop a piece of gum in and I'm on my way! This thought crossed my mind last night when I refilled my cereal bowl for the third time after having an entire dinner....and some (those darn mac and cheese I made for my daughter were scrumptious)!
I don't know what's going on with you people. My best guess is that your brain or some part of your body is thinking, "Maybe if I eat more, this bad feeling will go away." It may be mentally linked to some stomach aches caused by too much stomach acid, you might eat something to get rid of the pain (so the stomach can digest something other than itself). I honestly have no idea...that's my best guess.
This condition that is afflicting you does not afflict me.
Well i'm very happy to hear that im not the only one this happens too! hah i thought i had like a problem or something but maybe its more common than i thought, i hope someone knows how to get this to stop though!
It could be that your dislike of feeling full means that you don't eat enough on an ongoing basis. Keeping food 'at arms length' is common with people recovering from EDs and who have BDD. So you eat a little here and a little there.... your body isn't really satisfied, not really getting enough nourishment.... You kid yourself you're 'full' when you're not and you end up overeating at some stage because your body very simply needs to catch up.... needs the energy
I'd suggest you look at your calorie intake and your food choices. If you're a healthy weight (BMI between 20 and 25) then you need about 2000 cals a day to maintain that weight. (If you're under 21 you'd probably need 2200 - 2300 to maintain your weight. ) In terms of food choices... include more nourishment-dense, energy-dense foods to hit that target. Avoid bulky, low-cal, low-fat, 'diet' foods since they'll bloat you out long before you get the right nourishment.
Foods to eat more of.... red meats, oily fish, avocados, nuts, chocolate, olive oils, wholegrains, dairy products, dried fruit, starchy vegetables..... Eat fewer leafy vegetables by contrast. Start earlier in the day, get regular meals and regular snacks. Good luck
I've always eat in a really abnormal way, all my life i've preferred to eat many small meals in comparison to a few large ones. i also have no schedule to my eating...for 8 mopnths i ate every two hours and that seemed to work perfect for me but with stress and everything lately i've just began eating when im hungry and i stopped calorie counting, which is why i think this has happened. i have a healthy bmi and i eat between (approximately since i dont count anymore) 1800-2400 calories a day. im hopeing i can start counting my calories again and stick to a schedule because i think that's the problem
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
