Is that feeling of being full, an unnatural one?

Right now I feel so full, I could puke. Is it bad to have this feeling? I'm still way under my calorie limit, but this feeling makes me think I'm packing on the pounds.

Why don't you tell us some more about your past eating history? How much do you typically eat?

I had terrible eating habits; about as bad as a person could possibly have. I ate a ton of food, a ton of junk food. As far as I know, I was at least 270 lbs. I'm down to 210 now. Now I'm eating anywhere from 1500 to 2000 calories a day.

in this case- how much/what/how fast did you eat? did you drink alot with it?

You know, there's been a nasty stomach bug going around. How do you feel? Tired? OK? Sick?

I ate a can of tuna, two slices of low cal bread, a small tomato,  5.3 ounces of yogurt, and yeah a ton of liquid (10 ounces of coffee and 15 ounces of water.)

Holy geez our stomachs can only hold so much, of course you feel full! Seems to me it has a lot more to do with the liquid than the food....I also get that full/sloshy feeling if I drink too much with a meal. I too dislike feeling so full, even just by water, it reminds me of how i felt when I used to over-eat. So, I generally try to drink throughout the day rather than with meals.

Another possible problem....you are stretching your stomach with all that liquid all at once, and once it is absorbed, your stomach will feel very empty and you might fell hungrier than normal...and that's not particularly pleasant either!

Haha! That makes perfect sense. I did go overboard. I'm gonna keep myself in check with respect to the amount of food/drink I take in at once.

I think I know how you feel. I'm so used to eating moderate (but satisfying) portions that I'm unused to feeling stuffed. Once in a while after a meal, I'll have a little extra snack... I find that I can't seem to handle the amount of food I used to. I feel ridiculously full after, and like you, I drink a lot of liquids.

It actually helped me because it made me realize that the portions I'm eating are perfect and I don't need to eat more.

PS I like the new pic :)

Thanks! :D

i like the new pic too!

haha. I love that episode. I'm such a nerd; To this day, nothing gives me more joy than watching old Simpsons, Seinfeld, or Curb Your Enthusiasm episodes.

I totally asked the wrong question in this thread by the way.

It's clearly an unnatural feeling. What I was really interested in knowing is if it's possible to cause damage by eating/drinking so much at once. Is my belly really expanding that much?

I find that drinking a lot of liquid gives me that feeling. It passes (the feeling and the liquid Tongue out).

After being on a constant diet for 5 months I'm not used to stuffing myself as before and when it happens I feel as you do. I can't believe that was the way I used to be all the time! I mean the way I see I don't think there was ever any break in the traffic between the food making its way through my body. A constant stream of food and an ever expanding stomach.

I don't know the answer to your second question. Can you do damage? Perhaps but I doubt it. What I can say is don't test the limits :)

You don't cause yourself lasting damage by overeating from time to time.  But it's not pleasant to be so full that you feel ill.   I suppose if you did it a lot you might get problems with indigestion or reflux.
I kinda have the opposite problem... I always feel hungry.

Even if I eat a meal, no matter what it is I feel hungry 2 hours later.

I don't think thats a problem - the body is supposed to take between 2-3 hours to digest food - i think ur metabolism is like Lightening :) and i am jealous! i usually have to remind myself to eat every 3 hours cuz i will forget and then get ravenous later - thats the downfall!

I know EXACTLY how you feel... on Saturday I had a homemade cheeseburger, and I was so full it hurt SO BAD
I was in horrible pain for the next hour or so...

I don't think it's really a bad thing unless you get that full every time you eat.
It is pretty lame though to feel so full :\

 me too...why is that

it might not be hunger. a lot of the time, thirst is mistaken for hunger. try and drink a large glass of water before/after a meal, and see if that helps make the "hunger" go away.
