Feeling guilty of not going to the gym?
Hello, everyone. I feel soooo guilty for not going to the gym. My boarding school open the gym until 5 PM and it's raining outside. I have a major research paper due in 2 days and a lot of major tests that I need to study for. I walked around campus usually, but that's just it. I exercise 3-4 times a week, around 1 hour each. I'm looking to lose a few pounds. I feel sooooo bad for not going to the gym today! Anyone ever feel like this?
Plus, I ate 2 serving of animal crackers for snack because I was hungry and stress. That out me to 1,000 ish calories before dinner.
Oh, I'm 17, 5"1, 120 lbs at the moment.
Ah...NO WORRIES! Good luck on your exam and save me some animal crackers! Seriously, guilt over not working out is not good! NO WORRIES! Just work out tomorrow.....it's all good! Life isn't perfect therefore, we shouldn't expecct ourselves to be, either! If you have one to many animal crackers on Monday, eat a little less on Tues or at least....stick to your plan! You're 17...if you are healthy...your metabolism is working on overdrive, anyway!
And, get to that gym tomorrow! ;)
I'm trying to be active without going to the gym that often. I dance along with my music in my room, walking around, do sit-ups walk to grocery store. But I still get in trade-mill as well. Can you lose weight without going to the gym and stay healthy? Since diet is a lifestyle change, I would rather combine most of the activities into my daily lives so my life wouldn't stuck to the gym forever. ![]()

You don't need a gym to be active/workout! What exactly do you want?
Oh! I mean....I don't want to tide my life to the gym forever. I would go to the gym regularly, but I want to incorporate walking from places to places, hang out, running outside, walk in the park, ride a bicycle, have fun, using stairs instead of elevators all the time, ... be active! I mean...that would be really nice. I notice a lot of thin people didn't always go to the gym everyday. But I thought they watch out what they eat and moving around all day....do they?
Absolutely! Movement is awesome and nutrition is essential. Everything else is a plus! If being thin is your only goal, maintaining a healthy diet, and MOVEMENT - at least moderately - 30 mins/plus a day is all you need. Just don't eat more than you burn. And, be knowlegeable what that means bc it sneaks up on you. I've had clients that worked SO hard at the gym, ate fabulous all day and 'rewarded' themselves with a dairy queen blizzard at night and then wondered why they were not losing weight and/or gaining. Hmmmm. ;)
Thank you so much, fitnessgirll!! ![]()
You shouldn't feel bad about taking a day off, especially if you're that busy with schoolwork.
In the long term failed exams would be way worse than 500 extra calories you would've burned at the gym.
Good luck with your exams!
